    I quite literally bumped into him at Le Mans in 2001 while he was walking out of a hospitality tent and he was very pleasant about it (I was pretty much stunned silent).


    Ironically, I had chased him all over Goodwood about a year before trying to get him to sign a painting I had done of him to no avail.

    what is he driving in the last picture whilst wearing the helmet, is that a motorcycle with a cargo compartment section on the back? If so I seriously would like to know who makes such a useful vehicle as I'm disabled and that looks like it could be lots of fun out and about town for instance.

    @B1663R: No. It's Denis Jenkinson (Moss's co-driver/navigator for the 55 Mille Miglia, also a writer for Motorsport Magazine), and "Winston Churchill" is Alfred Neubauer, the head of Mercedes Benz's racing team)

    Moss' other house is on the same road as my parents. He rips is cars up and down it quite often. At the end of the road is a really tight blind corner. One day as i came round it he was hurtling towards me, he braked slightly then threaded his Jag through a tiny gap and sped off. Legend!

    "To me now racing is - the dangers are taken away: if it's difficult, they put in a chicane. So really now the danger is minimal - which is good, because people aren't hurt. But for me the fact that I had danger on my shoulder made it much more exciting... And I think with driving a motor car, the danger is a very necessary ingredient. Like if you're cooking, you need salt. You can cook without salt, but it doesn't have the flavor. It's the same with motor racing without danger. For me."

    Hey, I used to collect stamps as a kid too! All the cool kids did it. The losers went out and played JV football and tried to score with cheerleaders in their jacked-up pickup trucks. (And I'm from Massachusetts.)


    My favorite stamps always came from obscure-assed little islands that were awesome enough to put old Peugeots on their stamps, like this:
