<![CDATA[Simpsons Go Hyman-Busting Before Showing 2007 Dodge Avenger Cameo]]> Nope, you're not seeing double — that's the same video we ran earlier. But jeez, we just had to. We mean, we leave the office for a few hours to catch opening day and we can't even get the one thing we wanted run right today to actually get run right. First off, Springfield Dodge is trying to sell off the remainder of their 2007 Dodge Avengers, not Chargers. But more importantly, the reason this episode is so epic is one of us heard one of their family members get name-dropped on the show. That's right, great-uncle Admiral Hyman G. Rickover gets moved from engineering dorkdom to the epitome of pop culture-cool after Wiggum's trusty sidekicks bust out with a "Father of the Nuclear Navy" reference. The one opportunity for our family to see itself vaulted into the halls of the cool with a media reference on Fox's cartoon standard-bearer, and we couldn't even count on the team to point it out. Sigh. That's the last time we leave our office chair.

<![CDATA[Homer Simpson Gets His Car-Gadget On]]> A week ago Homer was simply enjoying the low-hanging fruits of his new CTS-lookalike, but now he's also learning about all of the gadgets that are included in a luxury sedan. Sure, keyless entry, sunroof, automatic seat control and satellite radio is pretty standard. But Homer also gets an alcohol dispenser, auto-pilot and more. [Orbitcast]

<![CDATA[Homer Simpson Loves The New Cadillac CTS More Than The Canyonero]]> As an auto-lover, if you were tuned in to last night's episode of the Simpsons, you weren't disappointed. The longest-running show to not jump the shark showed exactly why it hasn't. Homer's old beater-mobile got one too many dings rear-ending the back of a Pacer look-alike (with what we're assuming can only be an aftermarket airbag) and needed some time in the ol' repair shop. Homer finds himself behind the wheel of a loan-er brand-agnostic luxe-mobile with a remarkable similarity to the new Cadillac CTS. The inside jokes run freely throughout the episode's side storyline, and include what may be the funniest car-related Simpsons line since the Canyonero commercial song. To wit:

"I never dreamed an American car designed in Germany assembled in Mexico with parts made in Canada could be so amazing!"
We couldn't believe it either, which is why we included the clip above. (Hat tip to vwminispeedster!)]]>

<![CDATA[Talking Homer Simpson is a Backseat Dashboard Driver]]> First it was your mother, then your friends and now a favorite animated and fictional character will be criticizing your driving. This talking Homer Simpson sits on the dashboard and lets the insults fly based on your driving tendencies. Homer will recognize every sharp turn or quick movement and will react accordingly with a witty comments like "What is it? National Stupid Driver's Day" or "Your child might be an honors student, but you're a moron," and many more.

This $16 gadget is probably only good until it says something on the wrong day and you toss him out the window. It's okay, there are plenty of other assholes out there ready to criticize your slow/aggressive/stupid driving and you don't need one more, especially when he is fictional to begin with. <![CDATA[Simpsons Game Spoofs "Grand Theft Auto," Makes Us Want An XBOX 360]]>
No, folks, we haven't accidentally spliced something over from our video game obsessed friends at Kotaku. We swear this is auto-related. Bear with us a moment while we explain. We've held off on buying an XBOX 360, stoically standing by and watching as friend after friend purchased one. Until today we didn't realize how much of a necessity it would become to those of us car-obsessed folks. Today we saw the amazing screen shots of the Nissan GT-R from the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 and then, sealing the deal, we saw the trailer for the Simpsons "Grand Theft Scratchy" game coming out in November. Any time you mix a send-up of GTA and the Simpsons, we've just got to get it. So Microsoft, we feel you may have won this round. Curses!
