It's a lot of cheddar for this little mouse. Nicely done and turned out, but misses the essence of the original. Glad to see they went whole hog on the radio. The price is maybe good for the most perfect 510, or one with an impressive racing history. Ah, what is that sweet aroma of burning plastic filling my lungs? #1971datsun510
@Novaload: Sweet! I've been planning to get a subscription to this magazine so I can decide which body kit will make my '95 Cavalier faster! #1971datsun510
@Six Flags Over Tomsk: Maybe I'll try that. The rear Deck spoiler I built for it using plans from an old Time/Life "How to Build" series doesn't seem to help at all. I think the handrail is creating too much drag. #1971datsun510
The 510 has fully earned its rep as a highly capable mini-BMW but let's face it - its mission was still low-priced econobox. The gods intended it to be a better-than-average appliance that can actually be tossed around a bit, not some tarted-up show queen that will never be driven in anger again. I'm sure a lot of effort went into this car, but I'm still calling Crack Pipe because of the misguided effort to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. #1971datsun510
I kinda like it and it looks like it's been pretty well done (or overdone). I wouldn't pay $19K for it though and for some reason it makes me think of Integra Girl... #1971datsun510
Nice work. Looks great. Probably goes like stink. But if I can't hit the pothole without wincing at there goes another $300 wheel instead of better check the toe-in later, then it's overdone.
@an gucci skyline mane: Last time I paid $300 for a wheel, it came with three more just like it, free.
$300 ain't cheap. $50 is cheap - all you need is enough metal and strength to hold the air in and the car up under load. Everything else is money blown on looks and possible weight reduction.
This thing would've looked sharp on freshly-painted junkyard Ranchos. That's what, $50 all the way around the car, plus one in the spare well? #1971datsun510

It's actually, in my mind, worth it without some of the crap in/on it. #1971datsun510

When will people learn that the nice way to mod old cars is gently, and using period(ish) parts? #1971datsun510

That's one mighty fine crack pipe you got there.
