Honda Rumored To Be Selling F1 Team |

Bring back Osella, Minardi, Coloni, AGV, Ligier, Tyrrell and so on, and let them race. And best of all, no money means that drivers will once again be free to speak like humans.

Honda has been parrallel to Toyota & Nissan recently in financial strength & was always a japanese pioneer in performance along with mitsubishi & subaru... but, to see them cutting costs like crazy lately, & selling their F1 division, along with the $7.9 billion rumoured for development of "green sport cars" (along with other "green" projects); which makes a person think:
"Did Honda, within a year or 2, stupidly adopt Detroit's not-so-Big 3's catastrophic finance systems in an act of blind & idiotic jeleousy?!"
I hope not.. even though I like Japanese cars, especially Toyota... Honda had a special part in my heart, my dad owned a 1993 Civic & I cried the day it was sold 2 years later... I hope the best for the company, Seriosly!

Now thats an oxymoron.

Oh...and Jenson's done. Unless there's a buyer soon, his F1 career is over.
12/04/08
@OG_: Yeah Davidson's getting better with experience.

He wasted any opportunities with other teams that were out there when he (eventually) broke his contract with Frank Williams to go to the Honda team. No other team will touch him (unless he's paying for his ride, hello... Toro Rosso), and the arrival of Lewis Hamilton has virtually removed him from the British Press.
Especially since Lewis is a better driver than Jenson, and oh... something about Lewis winning the World Championship.
Jenson had his opportunity to shine but chose the glamorous life. It's too bad that he won't be remembered for anything besides that.
And before anyone else mentions it... he INHERITED his win at Hungary after Fernando and Michael crashed out.

It will be Hamilton that's remembered for taking the glamorous life when he chose to shit on the country from which his father claimed benefits from tax payers money to move to Switzerland to avoid paying tax.

You are even more insane if you think Jenson can top Lewis. Lewis threw the best driver in F1 (in my opinion), Alonso, for a loop last year. He took the drivers' championship this year, Jenson wasn't even close.
If Hakkinen feels that Hamilton will be the dominant champion in F1 for years to come, what do YOU know?
Talk is cheap. Results matter. So how is Jenson better again?
And I felt that the Massa-Hamilton fight this year was the most exciting I've ever seen. It's too bad Ferrari let Massa down.

""I have been a racing driver since I was eight years old and I know pretty much every single manoeuvre in the book, and that's why I'm the best at my job.
"We are talking about a skilled driver under intense pressure making a split-second decision which no-one, not unless they are in Formula One, can comprehend."
Tozzi told Hamilton to "stop personalising" the issue as he was under instruction from Ferrari, who "know as much about Formula One as you do".
Hamilton responded: "With respect, I doubt it."
Also you don't think Hakkinen's opinion may be a little bias towards the team he still does PR work for?

But then again, I don't know Jenson or Ron Dennis personally, so who knows?
But according to F1 Racing magazine (I'm a subscriber) who used to kiss Jenson's rear, it was always Williams vs. Honda.
Where did you hear about McLaren? Can you state your references please?
12/05/08
Oh,& it was well documented about the Button/Mclaren link at the time. But then you seem to base you opinion on what F1 magazine tells you, ffs.
12/05/08
It's a shame that the drivers don't ever change teams these days, then one could actually be able to better tell what's going on.
12/05/08
Hamilton beat the rest of the field and earned the championship this year as a result. It doesn't matter if he had another car or not, because it didn't happen that way.
Am I really the one missing your so-called point? Why do you have to INSIST that things would be different if Lewis were in a Honda this year? We all know that he'd be at mid-pack at best, but Lewis is McLaren and that's that. So come back to reality with us. It's really a nice place.... since HAMILTON WON!
And it was nice that Honda's CEO apologized to Jenson for selling the team. I thought so.
Oh... and give me some links about the Button/McLaren connection. Any links. Please. If there are any, post them here. I need to learn how this Formula One thing works.....
And since you have a bug up your rear about Hamilton, I'd like to remind you that HAMILTON WON! YAY!
Now go cry in the corner like a good little boy.

But really, I'm just calling it as I see it. I was hoping that Alonso would do better this year, but he did manage to pull off two wins in the Renault. To me, he's still the best driver in F1 today.
Hm... it must be nice thinking that you could be an authority of anything. Tell me, what color is the sky in your world?
Oh btw, HAMILTON WON! Yay!

We'll just have to agree to disagree about Button, but credit where it's due,he bought himself out of his Williams contract to follow a dream promised by Honda, sadly it didn't work out for either. I still maintain (along with F1 experts comments i've read) that Button would be a serious challenger in a top car. Now can we drop this?
12/05/08
Nick Fry has indicated that there are three possible buyers already for the assets of Honda F1. We'll see how things turn out.
Cheers.

Clearly there was some sarcasm in there somewhere, but I'm afraid the exact meaning eludes me on this on.
