I don't understand this... but I don't think anyone does, really. The thing that bothers me most is, why so many shootings now? And why are they at universities and other institutions of learning? Nobody's gone in and shot up a bank, and the largest event around an auto dealership has been employee infighting. The usual scapegoats are absent.
(I'm not counting this. That was a domestic thing.)

April stinks.

But nothing on the 10th. Until now.

This is not meant as an excuse for such horrible and aberrant behavior, but as a rationale of what may lie at the root of its cause.
Condolences to those affected, and their families.

I can only spend all this time posting today because I'm home with a torn ligament in my spine, and the ER was FULL of people with no insurance getting scrips, which WalMart and some other places fill for free. I heard the nurse explain it to at least 10 people during my 2 hours waiting.

Sorry to hear about the torn ligament, I'll bet that'd hurt like a bitch if it weren't for the happy pills.

We didn't have insurance, Neddy thought it was a form of gambling.

That said, I give it an 85% chance the shooter was on SSRI's.

Been done...
They need to try shooting up cemeteries, the body count would be astronomical!

I'm going to hell.

If they need the satisfaction of shooting a living person, at least "grandma died" is sort of an expected thing, you know? Whereas two of the kindest, happiest people I knew at my old university, both who had great lives ahead of them, can no longer fulfill their hopes and their dreams. It's always the kind hearts that go.
For the record, I don't advise shooting people in any situation. It's the worst thing a family's ever going to have to deal with.
Note: this had better not turn into a fucking gun control discussion. I've had to deal with enough of that shit.

And thanks, guys, for holding off on the gun debate. Hearing this shit up at Virginia Tech two years ago was sooo much fun the first time. Let me tell you.
