@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: Cool, because I see a LeMons winnar! Just make it run and race it as is trailing a cloud of extinguisher dust as you go.
@joneez helped you buy a new car: I bet you could clean it up and sell off a bunch of trim pieces on eBay. That'll pay for some go fast parts. And fire extinguishers.
This brings the average value-per-death up to $421,825. The median value is $276,000, and the mode is $227,000.
Of the crashes reported on Jalopnik, 42.3077% are Ferraris, 26.9231% are Lamborghinis, 11.5385% are Porsches, 7.6923% are Chevrolets, while Audis, Bugattis, and McLarens each have 3.8426%.
Italy still tops the country-of-origin charts with 73.0769% of the reported accidents, while Germany heads up second place with 15.3846%. USA takes bronze with 7.6923%, and Britain gets the best-of-the-rest award (last) with 3.8462%.
These poor supercars died most often from crashing, 77.2727% of the time, while engine fire was the second leading cause with 31.8182%. Arson heads up the rear with 9.0909%.
@Alphamazing: Ha, love the charts. And you must have a seriously boring day job. Much appreciated though I was curious as to how much money was being burned in these pictures.
@egoods: Nah, I like my job. It's not boring, necessarily, but I've only got 2 more weeks of this internship before I head to grad school. I've got work to do... just a lot of time to do it. You'll note that I was barely commenting at all last week, not even for COTD stuff, though I kept up with who won.
@968TomR: funny thing that's what I'm doing right now as - taking a dull course on six sigma. Six Sigma is dull and I'm an accountant so that's saying something.
Of course my training time is due to my car and my tree having an unplanned get together last night during a storm and not being able to get out of the driveway this morning.

Why did they put out the fire?
It was supposed to be for the Taoist Afterlife Race at Monterey next weekend.
Now what are they going to race??
[OMBUDSMAN'S NOTE: I fixed your spelling of Monterey. I would appreciate if you would it do it for me in the future. Otherwise a great comment.]

Also, distribution by mfr or model would make for a nice pie chart...

@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: Yeah, I have an extra spreadsheet for it.
Here's the pie chart from the last time it was updated.
