Novitec Rosso Twin-Supercharged Ferrari 430 Scuderia

What happens when you bolt two superchargers to a Ferrari 430 Scuderia? Well, you get 717 HP at 8,350 RPM, and 532 lb-ft of torque at 6,250 RPM. That massive power is good for 216 MPH when equipped with an available taller gear ratio. Accelerating from a standstill, you'll hit 62 MPH in 3.5 seconds, and 124 MPH in 10.1 seconds. But don't think that this is just a straight-line showoff — at least it'd better not be for the price.

Ferrari Hosts Soap Box Derby

Lots of people daydream of being part of Scuderia Ferrari, but the closest mere mortals can really get to living the dream is plunking down some serious coin for a Ferrari FXX. So if you're looking for a slightly cheaper way to play dress-up Formula One, perhaps you should consider joining the Scuderia Ferrari Club in Italy and entering their soap box racing league.

Matte Black Ferrari F430 Down On The Geneva Street

Now, we understand there's still an ongoing debate on the coolness of flat black paint jobs, but let's raise the question again. This time, we've got a certain Ferrari F430 Scuderia weighing in on the matter. We thought the Scuderia was a vast improvement over the styling of the standard F430, but this non-glossy example takes it to a whole new level. In the process it loses the tacky racing stripes, too. It looks like something that took a wrong turn off of the Fiorano circuit during a secret testing session. But do you think it would've looked better in a normal gloss black?

Edit: Ok, so it turns out this isn't a paint job, but a slickly-executed vinyl wrap. Hat Tip to Jamieson!

More Whistles, Fewer Bells: Ferrari Premieres 2008 F1 Racecar

Anyone doubting Formula One's temperance movement has legs need only cast their F1-geek eyes on the latest Constructors' champ's entry for the aught eight season. Yesterday, Ferrari's F2008 car became the first showing among new cars that must comply with the latest technology prohibition by Formula One's own Robin Hood, Bernie Ecclestone and his "Merry Man" Max Mosley. They've robbed from the rich and given unto the lowest common demoninator, standardizing engine computing and banning most driver aids. All that, they say, to force F1 to be more of a drivers' contest. This is just an intermission, however; the next wave of development will start before next decade. But first, there's the whole matter of giving up some of drivers' favorite toys. More »

Emerson Fittipaldi to Test Ferrari A1GP Car

With Ferrari's plan for contributing to F1 rival, A1GP racing, in the open, the hits keep on coming. First, Scudaria Ferrari announced the racecar it'll provide will be similar to this season's F2007 car. Its latest media coup involves Brazilian racing legend Emerson Fittipaldi, who says he'll come out of retirement to test Ferrari's A1GP car, which will debut during the World Cup of Motorsport's 2008/2009 season. The 60-year-old Fittipaldi is also boss of A1GP's Team Brazil and not only president of the Sideburns Club for Men, he's also a client. (Photo: Getty Images) [PitPass]

Ferrari A1GP Car to Be Based on F2007 Racer

Will A1GP get sloppy seconds as part of its deal with Ferrari? Could be, though one man's seconds are another's previously-out-of-his-league starlets. According to F1 Live, Ferrari will supply a new race car based on its current F2007 Formula One entry for the "World Cup of Motorsport." The new A1GP racer would use Scuderia Ferrari's current F1er as a basis point, though the finished product will be built by another company. Such a car will arrive in time for the 2008-2009 season, powered by a Ferrari V8 producing between 650-700 horsepower, a rating that according to Autoblog will involve the reduction of revs. Of course, it'll be a few seconds off F1 pace; but you didn't Ferrari would stick it to Bernie Ecclestone all the way, did you? Ferrari Reveals F430 Scuderia For "Friends" Ahead of Frankfurt

Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo decided he wanted to first unveil (we mean after the press photos) the new F430 Scuderia to a select group of "friends" before it's officially unveiled to the full spectrum of media at the Frankfurt Auto Show next week. So, he invited all of his "friends" to the Maranello Fiorano circuit to see him lift the sheet unofficially with two more of his friends, F1 drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen — and a female driver who we can't quite make out. Why a female driver? Well, because, as Luca says, "it's quite impossible to open a car without a woman." Who knew? All we know is we've got some more video to go along with that first clip we've shown you of the new F430 Scuderia. [via Autoblog]

Ferrari F430 Scuderia Revealed!

Mama Mia! Ferrari's just dropped a few shots of their next Italian supercar they'll be officially unveiling in Frankfurt. It's the Scuderia edition F430, a 2-seater berlinetta with an extremely low weight-to-power ratio of just 2.45 kg per hp thanks to a low dry weight of just 1250 kg - 100 kg less than the standard F430, and to the naturally-aspirated 4308cc V8's 510 hp at 8500 rpm. Scuderia Scooter: Ferrari Launches 2007 F1 Car

It's that time of year again — time for all good Scuderia Ferrari engineers to smile nervously, as the product of a year's worth of sleepless nights bombs onto the Fiorano track for the first time. That product is the F2007 — Ferrari's entry for the coming F1 season, which is being preliminarily shaken down this week. This year's F1 regulation book requires additional front and rear crash worthiness and lateral protection, causing a weight penalty of 10 kilos (22 lbs., ironically equal to the poundage loss of Schumacher's swelled head). Known as Project 658, the new car, which is longer than its predecessor F2006, incorporates a new suspension setup that required alterations in body design — including a reshaping of intakes to accommodate engine changes. A redesigned, carbon-fiber gearbox housing — which holds a new, seven-speed transmission and quick-shift system — allows for a narrower rear. Is it enough to win back the constructors title from Renault, or will big red again be force-fed escargots. We'll see. More »
