It wasn't the only road racer slogging through the French mud at the 24 Hours two years ago.

Yes, that’s a TVR Sagaris in tow, proof that the Brits really are a bit mad and will happily risk a long drive, a near-certain breakdown and a total mudfest to arrive at racing’s Mecca the proper way.

And did you know there’s a separate parking lot for Se7ens?

This year’s race kicks off in less than four weeks’ time, on July June 13.

<![CDATA[TVR Reveals Sagaris 2 Prototype, Sending Fender Vent Futures Up Sharply On Early Morning Trading]]> In an exclusive preview session put on for the TVR Car Club, the new TVR Sagaris 2 prototype was revealed in a flourish of vents and Britishness. Details have not been made public, but the new Sagaris appears to get a revised rear fascia and replaces the bizarre side exit rear exhaust with a more traditional straight cut rear facing set of tips. But the biggest visual changes are on the inside.

The cabin gets the biggest visual upgrades with a new center console and a big touch screen panel for vehicle systems control. We're not yet sure what happened to the sweet inline six, but we'll keep our ears perked up for all the details on the freshened baby TVR. [TVR Car Club]

<![CDATA[TVR Hooks Up With Bertone]]>

Well, there you go. Earlier this week, TVR set off a speculation bomb by announcing its cars would no longer be produced in Blackpool, UK. Would it be Russia? Slovenia? The Kingdom of Bhutan? None of the above. As Autocar reports, the next-generation of TVRs — The Sagaris, Tuscan and Tuscan Convertible — will be built in Turin, Italy by famed design and production shop Bertone. But fear not, subjects of the crown, engines will be produced by the UK's Ricardo, which is adding a production line to build new, Euro IV-spec powerplants. That means Nikolai Smolenski, the company's "teenage billionaire" owner has honored at least part of his promise to keep the TVR British. It's Blackpool's loss, but might we be entering an age of higher build quality for the muscle-car brand? Wethinks yes. [Thanks to Eric for the tip.]
