Maybe it's just the angle.
Or maybe not.
Pass.

Andrew raises a valid point: Bravo's new show Real Housewives of Atlanta focuses heavily on the southern moneyed crowd, many of whom are NBA and NFL athletes and, of course, their wives. Apparently when every wannabe rapper and DJ can obtain a donked out, blacked out Hummer H2, the Range Rover is the snooty whip of choice for Atlanta's elite.
This LSE version would play real well down there, as it makes the rare even rarer (Andrew and I must share certain deep, dark TV viewing secrets for us to both connect on that same show...)

But where's the line? How about my old Rambler, lowered on 17s? My Corrado, with $10k in engine work and race suspension? My old black Impala with upsized Rally rims? The rat-rod SuperBeetle I had when I was 17? The BMW 2002 that was almost at ground-scraping level I had when I was 16? When do you cross the line into "shallow", just because you like a nice car?

I agree with you, to a point, because most cars I've seen similar to my Benz were driven by twits in flat-brimmed sideways caps and Jackie O sunglasses, who didn' even know what engine was under the hood. My experience, though, when I've seen the really expensive (genuine) "tuner" versions of high-end cars and sport-utes was that the owner was usually a well-heeled passionate car enthusiast. I ran into one Kahn Range Rover in Vancouver a few months back, and ended up having a cigar with the owner. He had to make a special arrangement with Kahn because he couldn't get one of their pre-tuned ones in Canada. He would have fit in well on here, because he needed a sport ute but wanted a sports car. The "douchebags" I've seen usually buy the base model and try and make it LOOK like these expensive tuner versions.

But then, I love the "VIP" or "Exe" trend out of Japan. Long, low, black and chrome, with big deep-set wheels... Mmmmmmmm. This is a logical extension of that trend, and I love it.
