    @Drujon: You probably shouldn't judge until you've walked in those shoes. It's the last act of a desperate person.

    People that commit suicide usually think they are doing society a favor. They believe that their presence is a burden to all involved. The urge to destroy yourself defies all logic and rules of self-preservation.

    You tread on thin ice when you tell someone that's severely depressed to "get over it". If we could, we would. And we see it as a weakness that we can't get over it. And that feeds right back into the feeling that we can't fit in and need to go. That there's no place for us here.

    There are a whole litany of reasons that people become self destructive. Mental and chemical imbalance. A lifetime of trauma and disappointment. The feeling that it's never going to work out regardless of personal action is overwhelming.

    It's easy to make armchair judgments. Until you have to deal with the frustration of not having the capacity to deal with your own pain or the pain of a family member.

    I envy you if it's that easy for you to judge because you've never been overwhelmed by your own doubts. I'd rather be hit in the head with a tow chain again then to be at constant battle with myself. It's emotionally and physically exhausting. #carpocalypsenow

    @mytdawg: You don't know me or what my mental health profile is- so, How dare you make assumptions about me. This man was obvioulsy smart enough to have gone to the doctor if he fell and broke his leg, why wouldn't he get help for an emotional break? Instead he just 'quits' and leaves his family and friends to wonder what they did wrong, or what they should have done. I think that's shitty. That's my opinion, and if you don't agree with it fine. #carpocalypsenow

    @Drujon: Everybody has had crisis in their lives. I don't feel special. Some deal with it better than others. I can relate to suicide. Whether it's the coward's way out is something I can't speak to, I'm too close to the source. It's easy to judge though. Life is hard enough. #carpocalypsenow

    I was permanently scarred by "Fargo" so I see a plot. He didn't really commit suicide, it was a hit. Or the story of his failed attempt to fake-abduct his wife--because he couldn't get that tan Cierra the hitman wanted--is about to come out. Or the head office wanted those VIN numbers right away. #carpocalypsenow

    Wow... I think mytdawg has to be pretty close to the truth. I can see no other reason why a man who gets to lie down next to this each night would take his own life.     @mytdawg: I think the point of loving and losing is that you hopefully have a better view on how to approach the next relationship, which gives you a better chance at happiness.     As someone that has contemplated it about 340 of the last 365 days, allow me to speculate wildly.

    Wife is hot, guy is a dork. Good chance wife's family has the money. Regardless a divorce won't be good for business so they keep it together for show. She spends her nights on the prowl for younger guys while he sleeps on the couch in the dealership because that's all he has left. But she finally found somebody she wants to settle down with and now he'll lose that too.

    Just a wild ass guess...

    @skaycog: I had a friend who blew his brains out this summer. He was very well liked and respected, and his problems didn't seem any more severe than the average person's.

    Some people can't see themselves they way other see them.

    @skaycog: It's not so much the situations (speaking for myself) as it is the internal dialog. Everybody has that little voice that says you fucked up but most get over it. Some of us have little voices that won't stop telling us, in mind numbing detail, exactly how much we fucked up. It becomes an endless experience of humiliation. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. #carpocalypsenow

    @mytdawg: Ex-wife's uncle committed suicide due to cronic depression/mental health issues. I wouldn't wish it on any family.

    No matter how bad sh*t got during my divorce, I always knew that if the homeless alcoholic guy drinking a quart bottle in the park could be happy, then my issues were solvable and they too would pass... #carpocalypsenow
