As a 13 year old, my parents sent me to Greece to spend the summer with family. These pictures make me wish I would have ditched my connection in Milan. Just breathtaking.

Mr. Orosz, between you and the Evil Insider, you've brought back a big chunk of the Jalopnik I fell in love with two years ago. This is a beautiful gallery, and the kind of stuff I started coming here to see.

    Thank you.

No, I'm giving you no snark, no sarcasm, no snappy insults or jabs. I love this article, and am sincerely grateful that you posted it.

Alas, my dream ride would be a Countach, but I don't know anyone who'd let me ride one. But a test drive with a Miura. That must be heaven. I've only been in an F50...

Amazing. Of course, the Muira and Espada are probably my favorite Lambos.

    Dear Jalopnik,

Followin up naked pagani's with this post was the cruelest form of automotive temptation. I have to run a 5k for charity this afternoon and will now have a permanent "wind sail" due to your journalistic prowess. Please limit your posting of super car factory and other automotive porn to once daily, for the children.

    Sincerely,

There's one of these floating around LA, and I talked to the owner at an event a few years ago. He said he'd seen the car in Japan, and just had to have one, so when they started showing up at the Canadian Kei-car importer, he grabbed one up.

It's very nice in person, and much better looking than its platform mate-the S-Cargo:

Anyone who thinks the Figaro is fugly has no clue. It's a fantastic homage, way better than the Thunderbird

@Graverobber: The Nissan S-Cargo is immortal for its three-way pun. There's an S-Cargo delivering espresso machines near me:

It has aged surprisingly well, unlike the thunderbird or PT cruiser, probably because it isn't mimicking a previous generation, but just retro per se.

This car isn't retro- it defined the idea of retro. It was the car that brought in the whole idea to look into the past (or an image of the past) in order to enhance a car brand. It came out in '88. In '88, ford almost replaced the Mustang with the Probe, the 2nd generation Ram pickup didn't come until '94 -and so on- up until today with the Mustang/Camaro/Challangers that we have now.

    @rattlecan:

Exactly right, well said. The Figaro established and defined what the modern retro auto design movement is today. It uses a wide variety of design themes without apeing a particular theme.

All were produced in those pastel colors; there are no red or metallic black or PM yellow ones unless an owner did a respray.

I'm very secure in my hetero manhood but I'd love to own a Figaro. Everything else has a veneer of fake to it, somehow the Figaro feels authentic, even in its unauthenticity.

@SCROGGS!!: You're a sweetie. That's one of the nicest things I've heard in a while. Which might say more about the people I associate with... but still, c'mere big guy, gimme a hug.

@Hung Wei Lo in my Dodge Nitro: If it's any consolation, we don't like Celine Dion one bit either. That's why we shipped her off to Vegas as soon as we could. As we all know, Vegas is kinda like a storage facility for everything tacky, gaudy and undesirable anywhere else in the world.

In an effort to make amends, may I recommend you all look up a band called "Wide Mouth Mason". They're fantastic, I've partied with them twice now, they're great guys, and it's just simple, slightly-poppy G-D-B-V rock and roll. Start with their cover of "Superstition", to get a feel for the band.

As for these cars, I see them probably three or four times a year. Western Canada seems to have quite a few of them, and they can be bought for pretty reasonable prices. I've seriously thought about it... as a potential 'Busa project...
