    Weird. I've seen Holdens here in Australia with Chevy badges on them, but I wasn't aware that yanks were reversing it and rebadging as Holdens over there.

    the weird thing about vanity plates in texas is this, the letters are FLAT, not embossed (bumpy) like most other states. So I can see your point, yisoo, but it is actually how the plates look.

    @chickennougat: I believe all new plates are just painted. Looks pretty damn cheap to me compared to the old stamped letters and numbers.

    @nataku8_e30: Alabama just moved to mandatory flat tags. My sticker registration this year arrived with a whole new plate (not just the stickers, like normal).

    I used to joke about Delaware's cheapo tags...they were the only ones with flat tags until recently.

    @nataku8_e30: i used to have an old license plate collection at the garage where i used to work in west texas, now i got me self a "higher education" and work in uptight dallas in an office. and i got me first old license plate and hung it up in my cube. and people didnt seem to like that too much round here.

    @nataku8_e30: I've managed to keep the same ones for about 10 years now, but those are farm plates, my drag car still has black letters on it from the early 80s.

    @che-che: you work at the wrong office in Dallas. I've had my plates up on my wall for a couple years and everybody digs it.

    Course, my company gave us money to build a LeMons car too, so maybe we're just car nerds masquerading as computer nerds

    @Clown Shoe Pilot: nice. yeah. i have moved on from that place but it was ridiculous. especially going directly from roughnecking to white collar environment. i perfer the blue collar. you can be more direct with your communication and not hurt anyones feelings. or atleast they dont show it.

    I like the Fusion a lot, but is it car of the year material? It's not even all new. I really don't know what Motor Trend is thinking on these "____ Of the Year" awards anymore. They either pick the the lamest, most economical vehicle in the pool (Outback was SUV of the year, WTF?) or something completely ridiculous and irrelevant to most buyers (GTR last year).

    I do not miss my subscription to that magazine. #fordfusion

    @PotbellyJoe - As seen on I-287: Yeah, that's true. And despite 20+ pages of write up about how they chose the winner, the result is usually pretty bogus. At least they combined it with Import COTY about a decade back, preventing crap like the '97 Malibu, '93 Probe and '88 Grand Prix from winning. Seriously, the list of previous winners is a great big cavalcade of suck.

    Also, I can't wait to see what the '10 Truck of the Year is. Did anybody even come out with a new truck this year? That's got to be the most bogus award of all.
