As a Vette fan, I'm glad it was a nice warm day and the driver was enjoying the cheeses of Europe before the lap.

It would be really interesting to see videos and/or real-time lap position to see where one car pulled ahead of the other...

So they shipped driver and car (probably ringer) from Japan, what about normal car from the dealership? Ok, we'll see in couple of months time of course.

This is an impressive performance no matter what, and this comes from someone who doesn't particularly like GT-Rs.
Still, I'd rather blow $50,000 more to get a ZR1... I guess it's just more *fun* to drive.

True. IMO that's a very impressive time even for a 1L sportbike!

I don't have a clue how he's going to shave any more time off...

Jake has a lot of work to do to overcome the hood window if we're talking general greatness.

I see things differently, I think the GT-R is much better looking than the Vette, inside and out. The ZR1 looks just like every other boring ass Corvette out there and has the same interior cheapness as a Cobalt, although I suppose you can forget about that when you step on the pedal. We'll see about the less expensive whizbangery and warranty after someone blows up an LS9 and it isn't covered under warranty.
Still, none of that is worth $50K...that's like an extra trans for the GT-R if you're stupid enough to break one pretending it's an American V8 on the dragstrip. Hell, spend $10K on a hardened gearset for the trans, $20K on some extra boost, kick some ZRass and pocket the change!
