As a Chinese, I'm ashamed of my country's carmakers. If the Indians who haven't really been making new cars of their own design can make a test that can pass NCAPs, then China should, too.

Considering this should be priced right around $5,000 I see quite a bit of potential for these. You can look forward to seeing these parked at McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut and every other place where workers make little more than minimum wage.

Hopefully this thing will also take a lot of the older car held together by duct tape of the road, as this will be a lot less polluting then something that is 15+ years old, ill maintained and barely running.

Is this a car that many will drool over? No. Will it be cheap, reliable transportation? Most likely.

For comparable price, power, and protection, I'd rather drive a used VW type1.

Should this magically both make it to the US and sell, it will take all of four hours on the road before it is a hood ornament on a ¾-ton, or larger, pickup.

And I'll laugh at the first "Tata Explorer" I see.

Ok, nice. When the little box is traveling at least 40 miles an hour at the little car and I have at least a decent chance of survival, then you can call me. This dosen't look very rigorous.
