Horses were invented for people like Hatch. If you have to decide who's in charge, the dumb animal or the clueless senator, then at least you've got a fifty-fifty shot at getting the horse. With the car, you're screwed.

Congratulations, Raser Technologies, by building a one off hybrid out of an SUV, you're achieved something only accomplished by dozens of university teams around the country a decade ago, in the hybrid electric vehicle challenge! Of course, they stopped this collegiate competition after mass produced hybrids became so popular that people viewed the challenge as no longer being particularly innovative. I know my school converted the lab space for the Darpa Grand Challenge (autonomous vehicle competition, several years back). tsk, tsk GM, why couldn't you do this?

@nataku83: They did, with the much-less-fucking-useless Tahoe Hybrid (and earlier Silverado/Sierra hybrids).

@FstrPssycw: Oh, yeah, the Silverado and Sierra "hybrid". That was the one that was just like a regular Silverado or Sierra (depending), except with the beefy starter that allowed it to turn itself off at a stop?

    Great.

@A stʁolling playeʁ: Well yeah. Worthless, but so's this.

@jdoubleh, aberration roulante: You see why I'd like it to be sold to China, then!

@FstrPssycw: No doubt. Perhaps we should scrape together all of our bad ideas and market them as must-haves to China.

Here's what I have so far (besides Hummer):

    1. Saturn

    2. Sebring, Compass, etc

    3. CAFE Standards

    4. A different fuel formula for every county

    5. Republican Party

    6. Democratic Party

    7. Lobbyists

    8. Earmarks, runaway govt spending

    9.??

    10.???

I've had a rough day and my brain is shot.

    Anybody?

@A stʁolling playeʁ: No no no. The early truck hybrid was weak, but the current GMT900 is actually worth it's beans. The 20mpg city in a loaded pickup.

I've also seen a HUGE number of these showing up on the road now. It's becoming almost a daily occurrence, surprising actually.

@TexanIdiot25- we're boned....: Right, sorry, I forgot (which is pretty stupid to forget) they updated it along with the 'Hoe-'Kon-'Slade hybrids a couple years back.

And, I mean, it's Texas. Everyone drives a pickup truck. There are going to be more hybrid pickups there because there are more pickups there, aye?

I have to give Hatch credit for being brave enough to venture out for this photo op, as he's been pretty assertive of late that the mere notion of some Gitmo detainees being housed in a Hotel Supermax on US soil is the most horrifying threat to American security since season two of Big Love. I wonder, when he saw that the truck he had to drive was done up in Jumpsuit Orange, if he wet his pants just a little.

I say, let China have Hummer. Just about as advanced as what they've got now, powertrains excluded.
