2009 Dodge Ram R/T Accidentally Revealed By Dodge

Yesterday we shook some trees to see if anything would fall out resembling a Dodge Ram R/T or SRT-10 by tossing out wild speculation on some nondescript spy photos. We don't know if that got some gears turning, but today a brief flash of what looks to be the 2009 Ram R/T showed up in a promo video for the Rambox. So of course we took a screen capture, waved a magic anti-distortion wand over it and ta-da! A sportier, spicier Dodge Ram. Now if only we could do that wand trick with the Chrysler Sebring.

Detroit Auto Show: Slow-Moving Steer Steal the Show From the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500

As we told you earlier — the point of the Chrysler press conference was the unveil of the new 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. But the reason everyone was really outside on a blustery n' cold overcast morning in Detroit was Dodge's running of the cows down Washington Ave. outside of Cobo Hall. Yes, we were there and yes, we caught it on tape and here it is for you to show — without all of the trick truck action. Why? Because for Jason Vines Chrysler, sometimes the sizzle is the steak.

Detroit Auto Show: 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Revealed Amid Crowd of Cows

Here it is folks, the crowd of cows has parted — more on that later — to reveal the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. It's a double-horned blast of new truck-love from the car company owned by Cerberus. As we've told you before the new pickup's got all sorts of horn-y hotness like the RamBox cargo management system available in the crew cab which includes a weatherproof, lockable, illuminated and drainable storage bin built into each of the bed rails — with a total of 8.6 cubic feet of space. That's enough room to hold up to 10 cases of 12-ounce beverages — we'll let you choose which beverage in your RamBox, but we'd choose bottles of Bell's Oberon. But there's even more drink storage locations — like the "store in the floor" storage bins with removable liners, big enough for ten 12-ounce beverages and ice. But why are we still talking? Here's the live reveal and the official press release after the jump.

    2009 Dodge Ram 1500

Since those wily Mopar-lovin' bastards at Allpar and the never-lovin' Mopar aristocrats at the Times (who knew they were such trouble-makers!) have gone and dropped the cover on the new 2009 Dodge Ram 1500, we've decided to drop trou on our embargoed pictures of the new Ram-headed bull-dodging pickup truck. The newly hotted-up Ram (thanks to chief truck designer Ralph Gilles) gets a similarly new 5.7-liter Hemi V8 — giving it more horsepower than the previous generation, 380 hp. And a similar boost in torque up to 404 lb-ft. But it's not just under the hood where the Ram's seeing some monumental changes. There's also the RamBox cargo management system available in the crew cab which includes a weatherproof, lockable, illuminated and drainable storage bin built into each of the bed rails — with a total of 8.6 cubic feet of space. Also, check out that interior — suh-weet! All we've got to say is — well played Dodge. Your move Ford. Oh and yeah, we've also got a press release after the jump, but if you want the real skinny on the new Horn-y hauler, there's a pretty good site we know of with more detail than you can shake a horn at.
