If it wasn’t already clear enough, our god that is a vengeful god has once more cast judgement against the “stock car” pretender that is NASCAR in the form of torrents and water-spouts from heaven, delaying yesterday’s race until today, and today’s race indefinitely.
If you haven’t heard, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race at Pocono Raceway is under rain delay—at that track, it’s really no surprise. Instead of waiting for the track to dry in a boring, conventional way, Kevin Harvick’s kid is swimming in a puddle. He’s brought some drivers in on it, too.
Fans got to watch 71 laps of IndyCar racing at Texas Motor Speedway today after a rain delay pushed the race from Saturday night to this afternoon, and then a torrential downpour ensured that this race wouldn’t be finishing this weekend. In fact, it will now be finishing on August 27 instead.

If you were waiting for tonight’s IndyCar race to start at Texas Motor Speedway, neat! Us too! The race is expected to start after 10:00 p.m. Eastern now, as they’re drying the track from an earlier storm. I’m here at the Firestone 600, and I’m going to wander around a bit in the pits until the race starts.
While many of us were huddling for warmth in the main grandstand, some people took the United States Grand Prix qualifying session that never happened yesterday as an opportunity to do something hilarious. These are the real winners of Saturday “Qualifying.”
