Audi R8 GT3 Production-Built Race Car Can Be Yours
Based loosely on the production model, this racing version of the Audi R8 is what the company's motorsport division has been cooking up as a rear-wheel-drive, GT3-spec car that will be sold to customers for racing. Codenamed the "R16," the R8 GT3 should have over 500 HP to go up against the likes of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and the Jaguar XKR GT3. Other upgrades include a six-speed sequential sports gearbox and an obvious aerodynamics package, but in accordance with GT3 rules, the suspension is very similar to a street car. Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pack Finally Revealed
After more than a year of anticipation, Chrysler has taken the wraps off the Drag Package for the 2008 Dodge Challenger (Read our three-part review of the SRT8 here!). At least 100 of the Mopar muscle machines will be built, each tailored for the specific NHRA category in which the buyer wishes to compete. The big decision will be whether you want a 5.9-liter Magnum wedge, 5.7-liter Hemi or the big 'n nasty 6.1-liter Hemi. Any of them can be paired with either a manual or automatic transmission. But it turns out Geely actually turned up to the Beijing Motor Show with a relatively impressive machine. Detroit Auto Show: Speed Racer Coming to Detroit
Prepare to trip balls in real life Sunday because the Mach 5 from the upcoming Speed Racer movie will be making an appearance at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. We'll be getting up close and personal with it during the press days but the public will be allowed to ogle the 5,000 horsepower, ultimate race car starting on the 19th.
