2011 GMC Sierra Spotted Camo-Free, Maybe Getting 7.0-liter Gas Engine

This 2011 GMC Sierra 3500's been spotted completely without camouflage, sporting a Terrain-inspired grille and using the 6.6-liter Duramax diesel to tow a trailer. Supposedly a 7.0-liter direct-injection gasoline V8's in the works. Just toss the 8.1-liter in guys. [PickupTrucks.com]

    1988 Merkur XR4Ti for a Euro-Trashy $5,775!

Historically X marks the spot, however Ford seemed to miss the target with their mid-eighties imports. Today, Nice Price or Crack Pipe wants to know if time has improved the perception of their aim. More »

These Exhaust Pipes Don't Make Any Sense

We didn't think it'd ever happen, but this Texas GMC Sierra may have bested the Japanese high pipes as the strangest exhaust customization we've ever seen. The shooter's brother dubbed it "The Flatulator" (H/T to Brad!)

Engine Of The Day: Ford OHC

Ford called the the EAO, or sometimes the OHC… but the rest of us- at least, those of us in North America- know this little workhorse as "The Pinto Engine." More »

Hummer Tops Recent Study Of Most Ticketed Vehicles

A study of traffic tickets revealing the most and least ticketed vehicles reinforces obvious stereotypes: Hummer owners are arrogant, self-centered and over-indulgent, while drivers of Buick Park Avenues appear to have no discernible pulse. More »

Chevy, GMC Reveal XFE Versions Of Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe And Yukon For 2009

GM's just revealed a whole messload of details on their newest members of the GMT-900-based full-size SUV and truck lineup — the 2009 Chevy Silverado XFE, 2009 Chevy Tahoe XFE, 2009 GMC Sierra XFE and lastly, the 2009 GMC Yukon XFE. What's XFE? It stands for Xtra Fuel Economy and the four relative fuel-sippers join the already class-leading Chevy Cobalt XFE as vehicles GMs achieved added wallet-padding using a combination of mechanical, aerodynamic and mass-reducing enhancements. The tweaks help to deliver a 5% increase in EPA-estimated highway fuel economy and more than 7% improved mileage in city driving. They achieve 15 city and 21 highway mileage ratings versus comparable non-XFE models' 14/20 ratings. The XFE designation is only available on 2WD vehicles equipped with the 5.3-liter V8 mated to a six-speed transmission. But we're told they're able to accomplish the fuel economy bump without a knock to towing ratings. The Tahoe and Yukon are unchanged, while the Silverado and Sierra increase from 6,600 pounds to 7,000 pounds due to the new, six-speed transmission and high-capacity cooling package. Still with us? Good. Hit the jump for our take. More »

GM, UAW Agreement Details Out In Open: C3XX Is The New GMT-900 In 2012

In addition to the news on the discontinuation of discounted AOL service and a small rear-wheel-drive platform named Alpha, there's also news from GM's wide world of pickup trucks. Those pretty brand-spankin' new GMT-900 pickup trucks and SUV's from Chevy and GMC? They've already got a replacement platform, and the General's calling it "C3XX." And really, that's all we know — in 2012 (2013 for the Arlington, Texas plant), C3XX will be the new GMT-900. That is all.
