GEM Peapod Photoshop Contest, Rock The Vote: Round One, Group One

OK, put down your pens, pencils and mice — time's up. Now comes the fun part — voting for the best of the best of the GEM Peapod photoshop contest entries and crowning a winner to receive the grand prize — an iPod Touch (courtesy of the folks with the GEM team at Chrysler)! And while fun, it's going to be a huge job. We received an amazing 188 p-chopped entries of the happy little electric car for "gated communities." That's way too many for our piddly-dink poll software to deal with, so we've gone and split them up into four groups, each with 47 entries. We'll run all four rounds today, an hour apart. This first round of voting will run until 11:59:59 PM tomorrow (Wednesday). The top five vote-getters from each group will move on to a final round of voting running from Thursday at noon to 11:59:59 PM Sunday. We'll announce the winner Monday morning. With that, here's group one, poll after the jump. Remember, vote early — and come back in an hour for the next group! As always, standard contest rules apply. More »

GEM Peapod Photoshop Contest: Win An iPod Touch!

When we kicked off the original GEM Peapod Photoshop contest, it was more as a lark than anything else, but the folks on the GEM Peapod team discovered it and thought it was a brilliant idea. So brilliant, in fact, that although Chrysler isn't a sponsor of the contest, they've graciously offered to supply an iPod Touch as a grand prize for the winner in exchange for us telling you "If you'd like more information on the GEM Peapod, click here." Seems fair to us. Now, considering the ante has been substantially upped from a virtual pat on the back to a free piece of sweet tech, we figured it was only fair to re-open the contest for all you creative types out there. All the old submissions (on time and late) will remain eligible, so no need to worry if you made one for the fun of it. Feel free to use any image of the Peapod we have hosted on this site or elsewhere. Submit entries to me at ben@jalopnik.com and please include in the subject line "GEM Peapod Photoshop Contest." Make sure to name your entry something unique so we can keep them all straight. Standard contest rules apply, submissions will be accepted until Monday, September 29, 2008, at 11:59 PM. Good luck, and may the best Photoshop win!

Vote For The Best GEM Peapod Photochop Entries

Once again our readers enthusiastically answer the call, this time to chop and rework the GEM Peapod. The resulting 42 entries range from cute and cuddly Peapods to nightmare fuel Peapods — and everything in between. Browse through the entries and pick your favorite based on skill (or amusing lack thereof), clever use of the Peapod and plain old amusement factor. We're not going to sway the judging, but there are definitely some standouts. Anyway, good luck, and may the best photoshoppers win. More »

Jalopnik Photochop Contest: The GEM Peapod

When we spotted the GEM Peapod outside of Chrysler's world headquarters in Auburn Hills and later with an actual press release, we couldn't help but think it has a face made for photochopping. We mean come on, it's so smiley! As a result, we want you to put your clever caps on and chop the heck out of this thing. Don't feel limited to the gated, smiley community, there's always the possibility of making it frowny too. Or a tyrannosaurus rex. Whatever you want, just use your imagination. Whatever you decide to do, remember to e-mail me your work at ben@jalopnik.com and we'll have a run-off vote for the winner. Feel free to post 'em in the comments section and if you need a little help on how to do that, check out the commenting guide here. Now go have fun. Also, hit the jump to see how we started off the car Peapod-shopping craziness! More »
