    Mercedes Gullwing Spotted Still Wearing Mad Max-Like Fascia Obscura

    The gullwing door-equipped penile extension that is the forthcoming Mercedes SLC replacement was just snapped leaving its lair for a test run, as we can see in these shots. These pictures provide the clearest look yet at the new uber-car-to-be and allow us to note how long the wheelbase is, making it noticeably difficult for the vehicle’s driver to climb down off the driveway’s lip without scraping the undercarriage and forcing him into the opposite lane in order to complete his right turn. Man, this thing looks unwieldy. Rumor has it that early in the car’s development, Mercedes engineers considered equipping the vehicle with a ladder truck-style auxiliary steering wheel out front, enabling the vehicle to successfully negotiate obstacles such as small buildings and 90 degree corners. This has surely now been replaced with all manner of electro whiz-bangery. More »
