2010 Mazda3 Hatchback Shows Off Sexy New Rear Live In Bologna

The men of Jalopnik are proud of our love for big butts. We strongly prefer hatchbacks to their sedan counterparts; not only do they have more cargo room, but they’re more aerodynamic and better looking to boot. While we were stuck with the reveal of the 2010 Mazda3 sedan in LA, Bologna’s been blessed with the live unveil of the 2010 Mazda3 hatchback, its 5-doors making the most of the new global platform. Click through for full details, straight from Mazda’s smiley new mouth.

    New Mazda3 Hatchback, Officially Official

After releasing a bevy of "spy photos" of the new 2010 Mazda3 hatchback on Friday and officially revealing the new look of the new Mazda3 sedan, Mazda's now dropped a quartet of camouflage-shedding teaser shots. The four shots reveal the new Mazda3 5-door ahead of the official dropping of the cloth at the Bologna Motor Show in just a couple of weeks. Official details are sparse, but we've got the full release from Mazda below the jump. More »

Top Ten Reveals of the 2008 LA Auto Show

Over last week's LA Auto Show, we saw plenty of new models throw their hats into the bloodied arena that is the current automotive market. So put on some R.E.M. and follow us on a jog down flashback lane as we relive all of the fond old memories we've fostered together this past week. Remember when the new Lexus RX came out and we all had a good laugh because of an explosion of vanilla? How about when a Mini E showed up with that totally hot Deputy Mayor? Man, those were the good old days. Hit the jump below before we start tearing up to catch the ten most popular reveals — as judged by your eyeballs — of the show. More »

2010 Mazda3 Sedan Smiles For The Cameras

Mazda's pint-sized, entry-level 2010 Mazda3 Sedan was just revealed at the 2008 LA Auto Show and if nothing else, it certainly is expressive. The new sheetmetal is complemented by more power, a new six speed manual transmission and a rather nice interior for the segment, heck for any segment. The new Mazda3 stands to shake up the compact car segment currently occupied by such excitement-machines like the Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sentra, and Ford Focus — success is virtually guaranteed. 2010 Mazda3 Sedan Shows Off New Design, Peppy Engine

They've gone and done it, the new 2010 Mazda3 Sedan has debuted ahead of its formal unveil at the LA Auto Show and it looks like Mazda has gone and finally used a pinch of that Nagare design language. Those bellyachers complaining the US never gets good-looking compact cars will no longer have anything to complain about as the new Mazda3 is a looker by any standard. It also has the goods to back those looks with a 2.0 liter four cylinder with 148 HP and 135 lb-ft of torque and a 2.5 liter four pumped up to 167 HP and 168 lb-ft of torque, both of which are mated to either a five-speed or six-speed manual transmission as well as a five-speed selectable automatic transmission. Can you hear us panting over here? There are complete details below as well as loving, slow-mo video of the car in motion. More »

New Mazda3 Sedan To Debut At LA Auto Show... Duh

It's been the worst kept secret on the reveal schedule for the LA Auto Show — well, other than the new Ford Mustang. But whatever, it's now official — the all-new 2010 Mazda3 sedan will debut next month at the LA Auto Show. If you want to know more about all sorts of specifics like when the press conference is, hit the jump. If not, you'll have to wait for LA more information and more photos. Well, other than the three we have down below — or the following info: "Following the world debut of the North American specification sedan with 2.0- and 2.5-liter engines at the show, the five-door hatchback version will be revealed in line with Mazda’s global sales schedule." OK, so maybe they gave us a little bit of news. Hit the jump for the rest of the press release. More »
