FordMotor Trend and Automobile pit an ecoboosted Lincoln versus eight-cylinder Euros in a race over Loveland Pass. Since there's no disclaimer saying this is advertorial, how is a bankrupt media company's editorial budget big enough to support this? [6versus8] -

Ford's EcoBoost engines promise higher performance while simultaneously providing higher fuel economy. 2009 Lincoln MKS, First Drive
When the powers-that-be over here at Jalopnik asked me to test drive a car for you boys, I was pretty excited. Finally, I thought, Jalopnik is learning to respect a woman's automotive point of view. And then Ray told me it was going to be the 2009 Lincoln MKS. Hmm. I'll admit, I have a bias against big cars that dates back to the need to parallel park my mom's minivan for my driving test. On the other hand, it's not like I get to drive a ton of "luxury cars" either, so I figured even if it wasn't to my taste, I could cheat on my Toyota Corolla for one day. Luckily, it was a really, really nice day, although I was sad I didn't get to see the rain-sensing windshield wipers in action, since those have always sounded really cool. Yes, that's right — while I might not have the the automotive knowledge set of the gentlemen of Jalopnik or say, Popular Mechanics, you know my Lincoln MKS review will make up for it with a certain panache you won't find here or there. LA Auto Show: Lincoln MKS Revealed Live
We showed the press shots of the new 2009 Lincoln MKS late last night — and now here it is — the car Ford CEO Alan Mulally just called the "Caddy-killer" has just been revealed live here at the LA Auto Show. Look at that boldly designed "double winged split grille" signifying the "new design language of the Lincoln brand" as explained to the press folks by Mark "the Mullet" Fields and Peter "Hi I'm Dave" Horbury. It's a look we're affectionately calling the "Horbury hangnail." Next look at that boldly stolen-from-the-new-CTS rear end. Yup, that's most certainly — a something. Full press release on this Sangria-colored Lincoln with "reclaimed sandlewood" interior after the jump. Oh, and did we mention it comes with Sync and it'll start with $37,985 with the 3.7-liter V6 and the 6-speed auto tranny — with pricing topping out at just under $50K? We didn't think so. More »
