2009 Nissan 370Z Revealed Live With Details

We got a great look at the new Z-car when Wes went out and bagged the 2009 Nissan 370Z at that exclusive LA enthusiast party, and now we've got the details to back up these brand new live reveal shots from the floor of the LA Auto Show. The new 370Z gets added oomph to match the more muscular and compact looks with the now 3.7 liter V6 getting 332 HP and 270 lb-ft of torque to match the six speed manual or a 7-speed automatic with "Downshift Rev Matching" all riding on top of a car 225 lbs lighter than it's predecessor. Conveniently, Nissan has provided an afternoon's reading for everyone which we've included below. There is much to digest about this car and all of it tastes pretty good so far, but as with any car, the proof will be in the driving. More »

2009 Nissan 370Z Caught With Its Hood Open, Trunk Empty

We've already seen most of the Nissan 370Z (even dissecting the design), set to debut at the LA Auto Show next week. Now these photos from GTR-World show us more of a fuller sense of what the engine bay and trunk portal will look like. As you'd imagine, the 3.7-liter VQ37VHR V6 is there in all its normally-aspirated glory, crossed by a large tower bar. Moving to the opposite end of the vehicle you'll notice the 2009 Nissan 370Z features a decently-sized pass-through storage area, at least for this class. What else do we know about the new Z-Car? 2009 Nissan 370Z: Design Dissected

This year, as the 2009 Nissan 370Z is set to be unveiled next week at the LA Auto Show, marks nearly 40 years since the first Z car's simple origins as the 1969 Datsun 240Z. Since then we've seen the Z go all over the place, from tech-heavy with the 1991 300ZXTT and just plain heavy with the outgoing 350Z. But big was still beautiful, and each iteration of the itty-bitty Nissan, including the final one, has retained many of the simplistic design elements from the original '69. But now there's a new Z car. Will the design stack up with what's come before? Hit the jump to find out.

2009 Nissan 370Z Spotted Naked In Europe But Not On A Beach

Though we've seen official pictures of the Nissan 370z, we'd yet to see an undisguised photo of the new Z-car that hasn't been set up by the folks at Nissan. That's why we're excited to see these photos by way of Motive Mag from The370Z.com of one of the new zeds outside of a Nissan office in Europe. Hmm...actually, come to think of it, that sounds to us like it was still set up by the folks at Nissan. Whatevs. From the front three-quarters it looks fairly similar to what we've seen in the press shots. The rear shots, however, reveal just how large those sharktooth taillights really are. Expect a large outpouring of live shots when we cover the unveil at the LA Auto Show in a couple of weeks. More »

    2009 Nissan 370Z Breaks Cover

We've given you our guess of what the 2009 Nissan 370Z will look like and, according to the first official photos below, we were fairly close. The vehicle is clearly more shapely with a more aggressive nose than the current Nissan 350Z. You'll also notice a little wedge on the C-pillar. Is that a Hoffmeister Kink? More details at the LA Auto Show, in the meantime you can enjoy the official photos and press release below. More »
