Okay, if Toyota is working on this, then imagine Toyoyo following the idea to its logical conclusion: a handicapped-equipped vehicle that you can mindcontrol your chair into, hitch up and lock down, and then mindcontrol the car.

In this world, there is such a thing as steering feedback, and feeling the car by the seat of your pants. I imagine Toyota would want to be sure to incorporate these stimuli into their device, since an informed driver is a safer driver.

Now remember, there is also such a thing as bump steer, and feeling the car by the seat of your pants.

Now send the car over a bumpy road with switchbacks. That guy is going to have one helluva headache.

This is very cool technology. I have volunteered to participate in the controlling devices. You get some gooey electrodes stuck to your head and then you concentrate on various images and actions on a computer screen. I'm glad to do it to help others but of course I am not telling the researchers that my true goal is to fully develop my mind-over-matter super secret powers.

Question: When the operator thinks of one of Toyota's automotive products, does the chair go into hibernate mode?

If it's operated by brain waves, Stephen Hawking could drag race this son of a bitch. And win.

@superbadd75: I respectfully disagree. Stephen Hawking would wind up driving in circles for a while before veering off the track, but then try to convince everyone that wherever he ended up was his original intended destination.

Ford executive: Mr Mulally! Toyota has developed a mind control device!

Alan Mulally: Well that explains the Corolla's high sales figures.

Executive: I think that you misunderstood...

Oh sure, for disabled people. But how long before this technology is translated to fat-scooters, allowing America's obese to be mobile without even the threat of tennis elbow?

If I were the chief engineer I wouldn't waste my time on stuff like this. I'd be working on a wheelchair controlled by a Hemi.
