Sony Pictures released the first trailer of the upcoming James Bond flick "Quantum of Solace" today? Oh, they did it online for two hours only? Well, how about that buzz building. Also, it's a good thing we managed to snag it for you. With this 22nd entry into the world of Bond, we see James going out for revenge following the death of Vesper Lynd. And by revenge we mean the ass-kicking, bad guy-stabbing, motorcycle-jumping, Aston Martin DBS-racing kind of revenge. Yeah, the good kind. Hope that pretty Aston doesn't go into the drink... oops. <![CDATA[ Bruce Wayne's Subtle Lamborghini ]]> As if Lamborghini didn't already inherit enough Bruce from their parents at Volkswagen/Audi, now the supercar brand is associating itself with a different type of Bruce. Yes, we're talking about Batman's, or rather Bruce Wayne's, Murcielago. It's a nice subtle daily driver— well, compared to the Tumbler. This inevitably leads to the question of who would win in a race: Batman in his Murcielago, or Iron Man in his R8?

<![CDATA[ Iron Man Producers Gives Audi Happy Ending After Destroying R8s ]]> Having driven both the Audi R8 and the Audi Q7, we have to say that although we enjoy driving both, Iron Man Director and Producer Jon Favreau goes a little over the top talking about these two beautiful babies. Yes indeed folks, the theatrical release of Iron Man is just days away and the marketing machine is kicking into full swing. Since Audi is a major sponsor of the film, we get to see two different videos where the men in charge of the movie blab on about how great the cars are. Well, great for driving, but perhaps not for filming because apparently they couldn't get the Q7 to lock its brakes or do a burnout. Oh — and they couldn't destroy the R8 in the way they'd initially wanted to. Destroy an R8 in a huge conflagration? Not a chance if Audi and their big check have anything to say about it. Only they can do that to the R8. Double video action below the fold, and possible ending or alternate ending spoilers.

<![CDATA[ Full Speed Racer Preview Blows Minds, Bends Physics ]]> The final preview for the live-action Speed Racer movie is out trailer-style, and after watching it, we're pretty sure we know what the acting process for this looked like. It was hours and hours sitting in front of a green screen making "vroom-vroom" sounds and acting surprised and/or determined. The tripping balls part was added afterwards — and there seems to be a hell of a lot of that. The movie about our childhood racing hero and his creatively outfitted Mach 5 will be rolling into theaters in just a couple of weeks, and if this preview can't makes a case for seeing it in iMax, nothing can.

<![CDATA[ Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Video Preview ]]> The most beautiful and highly anticipated next-generation racing simulator is inching its way towards completion. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is the name of the game, and we've got a preview. "Prologue" means it's not the full game. Actually, it's like a glorified demo that will cost $40, include 5 tracks, 16-player online racing and more than 30 cars. Prologue is slated for an April 17 release date on the PlayStation 3, with the full GT5 game coming sooner or later. At least by the time PlayStation Ocho rolls around. [Techeblog]

<![CDATA[ Things To Do After The Auto Show Prom That Don't Involve Getting Naked On A Concept Car ]]> Lutz-Charity-Preview.jpgTonight's the big gala for Detroiters who want to be seen, and are willing to pay some big bank to do it. While in the past we've been one of those looking to have others notice us, we've got prior commitments this year and to be honest, blogging don't exactly give us the extra cheddar to spend on $1400 worth of tickets. But, there's still many a thousand of folks out there who'll be attending the extravaganza this shabbos erev, and if it's your first time in attendance you'll find out the big party's not the one occurring at Cobo Hall, it's the ones happening before and after at the corporate suites and dens across the metro area. Luckily, one website's gone and provided a list of the coolest and hippest non-exclusive hot spots for you to check out bedecked in black tie. Or if you remember from last year, you could just go and get naked on a concept car. And lastly, if you don't yet have tickets, we hear there are still a few available.
