Today's find is a '72 Plymouth Duster (or maybe it's a '71) with an innovative customization job. Dorsai3d shot the Billy Jack's Revenge on the damp streets of Portland, Oregon, and we can't help but admire the homemade hood tach, Electra 225 emblems used to indicate Slant Six engine displacement, and cryptic graphics. Make the jump to see all the photos and read Dorsai3d's description.

Here are some pictures of an interesting Duster (it just begged for jalop when I saw it...) I found parked on the street while visiting Pacific U just outside Portland. While I've been here, I've seen a surprising number of interesting cars on the streets as daily drivers (and a nigh-limitless supply of Subaru!). I hope to also get pictures of a first gen accord that I've seen around, if I can figure out where it parks.

<![CDATA[ Citroens And Fuegos Roam The Streets Of Portland ]]> This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition, where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot. We already know there's a Renault Caravelle still driving in Portland, Oregon, but there's plenty more French machinery to be found on the streets up there. Today we've got some photos from Craig, who works near a serious- yet garage-space-challenged- Citroën aficionado, and some more from Mike, who knows where to find a couple of Renault Fuegos in his neighborhood. You know the drill- make the jump…

(Citroëns) Here are some pictures of the 4 Citroens always parked by my office here in Portland, Oregon.
I only know the exact year and model of one of them because he has it printed out on the window (1978 2cv Fourgonette).
I swear he might have at least one more but on this day I could finally get a picture with more than 2 in the frame.

(Renaults) I love the DOTS series on Jalopnik and took a few pics of my own. I found dos Renault Fuegos a few blocks from my house. The yellow 164 is my girlfriends' and mine (now with 4 speed and functional brake booster! - it's been a true PCH). The junky blue bus is - of course -mine. Take care and keep the DOTS coming - you're doing God's work!

<![CDATA[ Renault Caravelle In Portland: No, Ralph, It's Not A Corvair! ]]> This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition, where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot. Now that we've started the week with a French DOTSBE car, we might as well keep it going with another. JasonTorch (of Team Make:Way fame) was up in Oregon and found this miraculously unrusty-looking Caravelle parked on the Portland street. Make the jump to see the rest of the gallery and hear what Jason has to say about this fine piece of French automotive history.

I always loved these, the French Karmann Ghias.
This one certainly seemed to be a daily driver, in an unassuming grey that camouflaged it perfectly with the dank skies of Portland. I bet from the right angle all you'd see are lights and chrome.

<![CDATA[ Real Life Grand Theft Auto - Portland, Maine Edition ]]> We didn't actually know Portland, Maine had crime or even roads, we always just assumed it was an idyllic beach town where Bostonians drove for long weekends to eat big lobsters. Apparently it's actually Maine's largest city and the location of a seriously impressive crime spree straight out of Grand Theft Auto. Thomas Cassidy, 19, apparently went off the deep end and randomly began burgling and vandalizing and then starting cars on fire. He managed to get through ten cars in a little over two hours before police caught up to him by accident while canvasing for witnesses.

Veteran firefighters couldn't believe the speed with which Cassidy was able to start the blazes — faster than they were able to respond and put them out. The Portland Press Herald has a Google maps overlay of the path of destruction and the in-depth story, but we were shocked to find nary a reference to violent video games leading to the fall of western society. Hey, just as a word of caution, El-Wert-o may want to stay away from purple Jeep Cherokees in the Portland Maine area. photo credit to the Gregory Rec/Portland Press Herald

<![CDATA[ Wheels Stolen From Meals-On-Wheels Suburban, You Can Help ]]> mealsonwheelsvan.jpgThough most commit crime out of need, not sport, it's hard to feel anything but angry at those who stole the wheels from a Meals-On-Wheels vehicle in Clark County, Washington. Seriously. Without the wheels all they have is, you know... hot meals getting cold. The thieves weren't even kind enough to put the truck on blocks, meaning that there is possible damage to the undercarriage (there's never an alligator around when you need one). If you're in the Portland/Clark County area you can help by volunteering to deliver the food yourself. It's an excuse to take a long drive and help people. Details below the jump.

Our Weekend Program needs Meals-On-Wheels drivers! Pickup meals between 10 and 11:30 a.m. Saturday or Sunday at the Belmont Center, 4610 SE Belmont. Deliveries are made in Multnomah County only and take about 90 minutes. No need to return to the center after delivering! For more information, phone Bruce at 503.736.6325 ext. 86223 [The Columbian]

<![CDATA[ Lapping Portland International Raceway in the Olympia Charger ]]>

We'll have a full report on the testing of the Olympia Charger at Portland International Raceway up here soon. In the meantime, Christophe Schwartz, general man about France, all 'round good guy and spearhead of the Oly Charger project, kicked down this vid of Dick Pierson's lap around PIR. Let us just say this — at any point on the track, one could pick the Charger out by ear. It made the Panoz track cars sound like childrens' playtoys. Manly thunder to the nth degree, this. Watch, listen and orgasm.
