Gallery below.

The driver was a veteran at Porsche, with over 25 years experience. That night he was driving the late night high speed shift, testing out the new car along with another driver in a Panamera. The accident occurred at 2:45 AM local time between Frankfurt and Heidleberg on a no speed limit section of the motorway. A terrible tragedy no doubt, and we're no experts, but those guardrails seem awfully high. One hell of a way to go out. [World Car Fans, Fr-Online.de (German)]

<![CDATA[Porsche Carrera GT Takes A Tumble In Spain]]> Is the Porsche Carrera GT the new Enzo? No, not performance, rather in the desire of owners to crack 'em up 'round curves. Exhibit A: Autogespot's shots of a Carrera GT crashed in Marbella, Spain.

Here's what Autogespot knows:

One thing that is for certain is that the Carrera GT is totaled but we don't know the reason of the crash. It is probably a case of driving to fast, because with low speeds it's almost impossible to park a car this way. Maybe the Porsche hit the curb and got launched, but we will never know for sure. It is a shame, there aren't that many Carrera GTs and now another one of these beautiful cars is gone.

<![CDATA[Million-Dollar Porsche Gemballa Mirage GT Smacked Around At Track Day]]> This Gemballa-modded Porsche is worth about $1 million — or was, before the owner smashed it up during a club event at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France. We hope the owner of this wrecked Porsche Gemballa Mirage GT read our post about track day insurance changes before he hit the asphalt. Fortunately he was unharmed, and the report even states he was joking about the crash after he recovered from the initial shock. Guess you can either laugh or cry.
