Behold the world's largest vintage Mustang junkyard—at least that is what we think it is. We certainly haven't ever seen more rusting and decrepit pony cars in one place than this massive junkyard has to offer.
It was 47 years ago today when the Ford Mustang was officially unveiled by Henry Ford II at the World's Fair in Flushing Meadows, New York and simultaneously in dealer showrooms. The world met the pony car and judging by the fact Ford immediately sold almost 22,000 Mustangs, it liked what it saw.
Ford hit a home run with the original Mustang. The ensuing models kept the bases loaded for the next nine years. But when the malaise era hit, the score was Mustang II, America zip.
