Bummer.. I always had a soft spot for the STS-V. Always thought it was a sharp looking car. Much better than the original CTS

Sad thing is that G6 GXP.R is a pretty winning race car, also built by the magical hands at Pratt 'n Miller. And with a wide body, it actually looks good.

Why couldn't GM cash in on that success a bit? I swear. If anything, one of the biggest contributions to GM's failure was its deplorable PR department.

@Pessimipposaurus: It'll just turn into some other GM vehicle. The G6 GXP.R is really just the old GTO.R re-skinned as a G6. The only reason the GXP.R exists is because the GTO was killed off and they wanted to keep racing.

@brentil: And the GTO.R was/is a tube-frame silhouette car. Thus, I doubt it'll be terribly difficult for Pratt & Miller to have a Camaro SS.R ready for the 2010 season...

Apparently not having halo cars not being successful for Toyota has made GM decide that they too want to be not successful by going all appliance.

In a later press release, GM noted that they are looking at ways of ending production on a number of additional models. Those under consideration include:

    The Toyota Prius and Camry

    The Honda Accord and Insight

The Ford Mustang- hell, everything by Ford, those financially-sound ass-clowns.

Saab- jesus, we'll never drink that much in Vegas again, we promise.

Poor STS-V. I always STS's were pretty cars, but GM failed to advertise the hell out of it. As a result, no one knew what it was. Surely they should've made the STS the DeVille replacement.

STS-V would've been a cool used car in 5-7 years, like a poor man's E39 M5. The overwhelming majority of STS drivers being 85 year olds would've meant serious sleeper potential.

469 hp/439 lb ft in a luxury barge for $37k is worth tolerating the old man stink!

In another couple years this will slide to my price range, and I will seriously consider it. Why the hell didn't Cadillac tell anyone they had this monster hidden under armpit high plaid shorts, black socks and flip flops?

Sorry, I know this is overdone, but:

Step 1: Get rid of all of your good cars

    Step 2: ????

    Step 3: Profit!

You may also want to insert a step in there involving kissing the government's ass and trying to transform into Toyota.

I saw an STS-V on the road exactly one time. Never really saw the point of that car, since the CTS-V was such a better option.

You can, however, pick up an STS-V in the used market for a song. But for the money, I'd take an E39 M5.
