The article about Suzie McNeil's Prius, which appears in today's Globe And Mail, is proof a slow news day in Canada is a million times worse than one south of the St. Lawrence. It's literally about how she drives a 2006 Prius and "pimped it out" by tinting the windows. Here are some gems:

"It says I'm concerned about the environment and also I am interested in thinking outside the box and trying new things that will help us," says McNeil, who was nominated for a Juno and a Canadian Radio Music award in 2008.

[...]

"When you stop and start, it uses the battery so that just compounds and doing that enough times you just save that much energy and money. I didn't even know that when I bought it; I was, like, do you plug it in?"

The one car she might trade for the Prius? A Volkswagen Beetle convertible. Seriously? When you're on the B-list in America at least you get a hydrogen BMW or a hybrid Lexus. Apparently, a Prius is a noteworthy and expensive car (for Canada).

Oh, Canada. McNeil also brags about being pulled over by two young cops and getting a phone number, which has less to do with the car and more to do with her being attractive (for Canada). Thanks to Mark for the tip!

<![CDATA[Nissan GT-R In Hot Pink For Tasmanian Racing, Godzilla Goes Femme]]> Why would anyone take a brand new R35 Nissan GT-R and paint it hot pink? Racing, of course. The Targa Tasmania, the Australian version of the Mille Miglia, is coming up and the folks at Just Jap Imports have been tasked with painting it pink for Team Donut King (I hope some of those words make sense together). The team posted the photos at the Skyline Australia forums and we couldn't resist posting them here.

Some may hate it, but I actually find it charming in that bizarre foreign livery sort of way. [Skyline Australia via JPCNews]

<![CDATA[No Men Allowed! Swiss Create Pink Parking Spaces]]>

Some European countries, including Switzerland, have reserved parking spaces for women that are near the exists and under video surveillance. This is done to protect women from assault when getting into and out of their cars. Unfortunately, the unchivalrous men of Bern have been parking in these reserved spots. Since they can't legally stop men from using these spots, local garages are going to paint the spots in a way that discourages men from parking there. Above is our expert artist rendering of what these spots might look like.
