    @Super Moose: Hey, I didn't know there were any other Jalops in attendance. I was at about the 6 minute mark, in the woods on the outside of the corner.

    That was beautiful. I really like his steering technique. A combination of shuffle steering and standard race style. Relaxed and fluid. And his lines and angles are crazy. I wonder what he drives like when he's just getting groceries.

    The shortest distance between two points often involves hanging the rear end out so far that you can check on its condition without removing your gaze from the windshield.

    Following in his father's footsteps... this family knows how to drive.
    I expect to see most of you at Pikes Peak next year - and even though you'll only see a few seconds of each car wherever you sit - you will be able to easily tell who is doing better. For example - when Rhys came by our turn this year - almost everyone agreed he was much faster than anyone in his class.

    Got to hand it to Rhys, he's a talented driver. I'm glad he doesn't spend all his time doing drift competitions/exhibitions. For me, drifting was best described in an overheard phone conversation at the Champ Car GP of Portland a few years back: "They're doing the drift cars right now... You know, those cars that just wreck" Of course I know there's more to it than that, I respect the skill involved. But I have much more respect for those who can translate those skills to speed on a race course or racing technique and know-how to show the drifting crowd how it's done.
    Way to go Rhys, on an enviable trip up Pikes Peak.

    @TimTim: I take it you prefer grip races? There is cool grip racing sure, like DTM and Le Mans, but for me, I like to boogie.

    @nick2ny: That would be my preference to be sure, but again I've got respect of the skill of drifting. It's like most judged sports; I know it's difficult, I know it's challenging, I'd even have a great time doing it myself. But it's difficult for me to get into as a spectator.

    @TimTim: I started to like drifting last year, when I watched some friends do it. It actually does take skill, but I can't bring myself to try it. I'll stick with autocross and track days.

    You need to start with 800hp so you will have 400hp by the time you get to 14,000 ft. Not so much oxygen for hungry little turbo charged engines up there...
