The $2500 price is right at that level where you could say f-it; I'll take it. But the risk of firey death just seems too high with this thing. #chevys10
Insanity like this warms my heart. I voted Nice Price, even though right up the street is something even more righteous: A '66 or so Chevy flatnose van with the same engine and running gear in the back, for 1200 bucks. I know the people selling it. They told me the guy they bought it from, installed steel plates up front to keep the front tires on the ground. They have to carry two spares, one for the front and one for the Caddy rear.
I think I'm going to go talk to those folks. #chevys10
I'm pretty sure this will change the handling exactly opposite of what you're thinking. I think it went from "pickup oversteer" to "Porsche-esque snap oversteer x10". #chevys10
The weight seems nicely balanced between the rear wheels, and the tranny's in front, which means terminal lift-throttle oversteer won't be as bad as with, say, a Corvair. I have a special, small place in my heart for ass-engined pickups. I saw a VW caddy with a VR-6 engine in the bed, and it was cool as hell. This isn't quite as cool, but sports many more cubes, which makes up for it. That's a lot of motor and a lot of power/weight ratio for your money. If it were closer to me, I'd consider it, just to live life 1/8 mile at a time. #chevys10
I like how he has the FWD caddy rims on the back as well. Could this thing have 4 wheel steering!? Anything with a 500 HP Caddy motor is worth $2500. Nice price (for somebody else) #chevys10
It would almost be worth $2500 just to watch the reaction you get when you pop the hood and pull a suitcase or two out of the now-empty front end. I can only imagine the plumbing for the cooling system.Or the shift linkage for that matter. Oh, I'll call it Nice Price, but it's safer as a parts source than something to drive. By the way, is that a '49 Dodge barely visible in the last picture? Maybe if the seller throws that in...imagine the hotted-up 500 in that! #chevys10
I would have guessed Michigan but Wisconsin isn't that far away geographically or genetically.
Of course I like it in that "Hold my beer" kind of way. But you'd have to be on crack to actually drive it. I can't vote because there's not a "Nice Crack" button.
