Those of us that are from the south know all about those nasty bugs called "chiggers"...but be careful where you use it in the west coast cause some of us never heard of such vermin...One day, I was in south central L.A., and my legs were itching, and....whooops!
I had a groundhog in my garage for a good portion of the spring and summer (dirt floor dammit) and I nicknamed him "digger" as I tried desperately to eradicate him/her. I was, however, very careful where I used that nickname as I live in a colorful neighborhood. You don't just go around yelling "stupid digger" any old place.
@mytdawg: My friends were in Indy (downtown around 38th St) once for a Boy Scouts function. My friend's dad was wearing a hat that said "Elk's xth Annual Coon Hunt". Nobody noticed until the entire Burger King came to a dead stop and everyone in the place was staring at him. Awkward does not describe their realization followed by their hasty departure.
I had some family members that felt the need to have the Vanity plate "NTEGRA" on their 1998 Acura. 2 weeks into driving it, they finally figured out why people kept giving them the finger when one followed the other home and realized what the plate looked like from any sort of a distance... they have used the standard issue DOT plates ever since.
For some reason still unknown to the universe personalized plates are huge in Ohio. By now I should have a huge stupid Ohio license plate gallery but the only two pictures that I have are of an Acura TSX with a plate that reads "ICUONME" and a Corolla with an old fat lady driving which reads, "SEXY MA".
Ohio .... *sigh*
@aSoundofSleep Part Duex: Sleepier and Soundier: I know. There's a ridiculously huge variety of specialty plates, too. Yeah, I want to spend 35 bucks a year so I can show people that I support the Pro Football Hall of Fame or Ducks Unlimited. At least when I lived in Illinois, the specialty plates looked completely different from the standard issue, instead of just adding a little graphic and slogan.
And all the personalized/specialty plates in Ohio are flat. I hate flat plates.

The letters are flat on that license plate, but the ones on the car are raised. But more to the point, what does Jalop have against the National Greentown Glass Association?

@Touched: Can't be, since the MkV went with that big-mouth grille and ditched the bumper lip.
