We can all agree that cars today are far better than they've ever been. From Ferraris to Kias, everything is pretty stout.

While our man Travis was busy having a crisis in the pits, friend of Jalopnik Brad Fox was on the track taking some of the nicest photos we've seen of this glut of gorgeous racing cars.

The Lamborghini Urus SUV Concept made its debut earlier this year in Shanghai and is still making the rounds on the auto show circuit. This weekend, the car was in Monterey, California for The Quail and on the concept lawn at Pebble.

The daytime during Pebble Beach car week is all about seeing the cars. But the nights are all about exclusive parties and events for well-to-do customers, celebrities, journalists, and other members of the glitterati.

Without a doubt, the premier classic car show in North America is the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Each year, 200 impeccable cars descend on the 18th green at Pebble Beach and compete for the coveted Best in Show.

The festivities at Pebble Beach have claimed another car, albeit only a $275k Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Performante and not a nearly priceless Shelby Daytona. And it wasn't on a track.

I'm not what you'd call a "concours guy." Don't get me wrong, I love seeing all the incredible cars that are on hand at each show this week. But seeing a car sitting on a golf course just doesn't "do it" for me. I need to see them moving.

The Pebble Beach weekend brings out some of the most valuable cars in the world and, inevitably, someone stuffs one. Seen here is a crunch-and-munched Shelby Daytona Coupe, chassis #2286, one of the five Cobra Daytonas to race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Quail is one of the most exclusive events of the entire Pebble Beach car week. Formally called "The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering," a veritable cornucopia of the greatest cars in the world hold down the lawn on the Quail Lodge golf course while insanely rich people in ridiculous hats gawk at them.

Here in Monterey for AWESUM CAR WEEK 2012!!!!!11111!11 (aka Pebble Beach), McLaren popped eyeballs with a raging-PMY-painted 12C Spider. The unveiling happened at a private party for the Gooding Moneybags Car Auction at the Pebble Beach Center For Horses That Cost More Than We'd Make If We Lived To Be 800 Years Old.
