    Let me get this straight: If I have a Tahoe, and it gets stolen, I'm supposed to be thankful that OnStar allowed it to be recovered? People, put yourselves in this position and decide if you'd rather have your ride or its insured value in that situation. Ever wonder what happened to LoJack?

    OnStar's never made the first lick of sense to me.

    @snapoversteer 'bout to get told: It would be a different story if one of your kids (or your pet) were still in the back of the car.

    The advantage of OnStar (which I do not have) to LoJack (which I do) is the way OnStar can cut the power to the engine in an emergency. This one feature alone will save countless police man hours avoiding unnecessary car chases, liability from said chases, and time spent investigating grand theft auto -- which are all paid for by taxpayers.

    @McMike: Okay, low-brow puns are one thing, but Facebook stalking is just downright creepy.

    I'm not blaming you, by the way. I just find the concept of random people in search of a few page hits actually posting her Facebook photos on their sites to be disturbing.

    @pauljones: Which, vicariously, is one of the main reasons I find facebook disturbing.

    I'm a child of Internet 1.0, where we all revel in anonymity. I still don't know how, in the course of just a few years, we all decided we should divulge our entire real lives to the world...180 degrees from everything that was taught about the web from 1995-2004 or so.

    I know I'm in a small minority here.

    @muhnkee_2 - Avantime Owner and 100% Jaloper: Yes, but making it a point to go into her Facebook account or whatever, take the pics, and propagate them simply because she happens to A) be attractive and B) be a senator's daughter is just plain messed up.

    She posted those pictures to her Facebook account, theoretically accessible only to her "friends". She didn't post them to be used as a form of advertisement.

    @pauljones: i am not saying i agree with it, but sadly "friends" = public domain nowdays, so i have little sympathy for people who publish named photos of themselves doing stupid things on the internet then are surprised when they pop up at a bad time!

    @McMike: Like I said, I'm not blaming you. You Googled the name, but you didn't put the content up there. I have no problem with that.

    My disgust is aimed towards those that actually do make it a point to take what should theoretically be semi-private pictures of young girls from their Facebook accounts and post them on their website in hopes of page hits.

    As Muhnkee points out, posting pictures on Facebook or similar sites these days, is, in practice, as good as posting them up on a freeway billboard thanks to all the slime balls in the world today.

    But that doesn't mean that I have to like it or approve of it.

    @Tiberiuswise is all ate up with sarcasm: Yeah, nice "friends" indeed. I hate it when people "tag" me in a photo. It has never been anything stupid like those pics but I just don't want someone else posting pics in a search-able database of me doing anything. I will post pics of me doing things I want to be seen doing, thanks.

    @lilwillie: I second that.

    I might just have to pick up a Tahoe for myself, hit the road and attempt to woo her. However, if she is related to the "Senator from Nissan" where is her Armada? Perhaps if I bring an Armada things will work out better...

    I'm sure awesome/broken sway bar related hooning activities will ensure me a date with the Senator's daughter. If it all falls through... I'm sure there are always the daughters of politicians in South Carolina (may be out hiking... so I'll bring some better clothes) and Alabama... but they are a bit tougher to get noticed by, what with their BMWs and Mercedes.

    I'll just have to stick with all the GM execs families down the street and try to stay away from Detroit politicians family members (they sometimes have sludge problems).

    I was at a DE recently and OnStar called a guy in his Cobalt SS for the same reason. The person asked if he was having an emergency and needed assistance. I can't believe onstar can just pipe into your car with your pressing any button. #hennessey
