    C'mon Ray, have you ever tried to interview someone from a Chinese car company? The crews at the BYD, Brilliance, Geely and Changfeng displays at the '09 NAIAS had very limited English skills.

    The fact that a private label company doesn't have a language barrier is a good selling point and hardly racist.

    Unless you think that every company that allows you to press 2 for Esapanol is also racist. #sema

    @bozoerrebbe: I rarely buy products based on how well people speak. In fact, I have YET to speak with a representative from my Chinese made tires. The implication that Nutek is giving is that, just because they speak English, you should buy their products or that their company is better. That's stupid. I would even argue that the best part about said article is that Nutek is using English POORLY, in the usage of a comma with an ellipsis (which I'm pretty sure is supposed to be 3 periods, anyways).

    @Dallifornia: But this is SEMA. A show for vendors to make contacts sell their stuff to other companies, not (typically) to you, the end consumer. If you go to Joe's Local House o' Custom Wheels and order a $3500 set, Joe's might wind up in a tough spot if some detail is lost in the translation when placing the order with the manufacturer. What Nutek is selling here isn't necessarily a better product, but better communication and confidence that the order will be correct.

    Probably.

    You may not buy it, but Joe might. #sema

    @beercheck: But even then, I could still apply that to my life. If I don't know which Chinese restaurant to go to for dinner, it doesn't play a role in who speaks better English. Who ever makes the superior product is going to get my business. Also, Joe of "Joe's Local House o' Custom Wheels" is a notorious Klan leader, a Grand Wizard, in fact. Not sure if he's the best example to make me see your point. #sema

    @Dallifornia: Any time you want to take me out for a $3500 Chinese dinner where you'll pick up the tab if I misunderstood one of the ingredients....CALL ME.

    Also, yeah, I never go to Joe's. No biggie, though, as I prefer junkyard steelies....and I've never, ever met a racist at a salvage yard...

    There are a bunch of facts missing, so it could be the result of racism, but as it stands, nah.

    If you're a business that sells stuff to businesses who only have English-speaking (well or not) employees -- who really need to make sure their customers get what they wanted -- advertising that you have staff that speak their language might be a very, very good idea.

    I'm alright with it, as it stands.

    Now, the punctuation, on the other hand..... No. #sema
