I think the video is deceptive. This guy is extremely smooth which is why it makes his driving look smooth. If the driving looked more dramatic he'd probably end up posting a slower time. But you never know.

Why in the name of all that is holy won't you let me buy this American car in America? I have the income, I have the car and I need this car. I want you (ford) to have my money. Why don't you want my money? Please don't make me buy a Scooby-roo.
Sincerly yours,
Maxx

And all (most) of roads are straight. And potholed in my home town of Dearborn. So you will then complain about ride quality.
So please WTH do you think I would try to burn myself by bringing it over to you guys? I don't want to lose the money left and get Obama-ized along with my other 2 retarded cousins.

Interestingly, the Focus ST is available in the US as a Volvo C30. It's the same platform and the same engine. It's not the RS, but it's decent nonetheless.
I've heard the argument from someone at Ford that bringing the Focus to the US is cost-prohibitive. But I think that's just nonsense. The C30 starts at under $24k which is not bad, but a Civic Si starts at about $22k.
I think the real concern is that they don't believe Americans will be willing to spend that much on a compact car with a Ford badge. The current Focus starts at $16k.
People say they want cars like this, but they're offered and few buy them. Hatchbacks seem to be a particularly tough sell. Americans still seem too attached to SUVs, hence all the stupid crossovers.
