Well, then, the Novitec Rosso Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M is the tuner car for you. And look, it's yellow!

Press release:

Some Like It Even Hotter: NOVITEC ROSSO Tunes the Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M — 696 hp / 512 kW, 682 Nm and More than 330 km/h

How can you make a Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M, built in a limited edition of just 499 vehicles, even more exciting and more exclusive? Easy, just take it to NOVITEC ROSSO, the world's leading refiner of the sports cars from Maranello.

There the open-top lightweight model is fitted with the NOVITEC ROSSO RACE Bi-Compressor engine with 696 hp / 512 kW. It propels the Ferrari to a new top speed of more than 330 km/h. Numerous uncompromising sporty options such as 20-inch wheels, sport springs, a lift system for the front axle and exterior and interior accessories round out the product lineup.

NOVITEC ROSSO compressor technology has been the proven recipe for added driving fun for many years. For the eight-cylinder four-valve engine of the Scuderia Spider 16M NOVITEC ROSSO has now developed a custom version of its RACE Bi-Compressor engine.

The 4.3-liter V8 is supercharged by two cogged-belt-driven high-performance compressors with a maximum boost pressure of 0.48 bar. Each cylinder bank is fitted with a generously dimensioned water-to-air intercooler.

A specially manufactured heat-insulated intake manifold with larger cross-sections provides the engine with pre-compressed air. High-performance air filters and larger injectors round out the engine conversion on the intake side.

For a perfect symbiosis of maximum power yield, exemplary running smoothness and durability beyond reproach, the NOVITEC ROSSO engine specialists precision-match the new components with a newly programmed electronic engine management system.

Just as important are the larger cooling circuits for water and oil as well as dedicated cooling circuits for both compressors and the intercoolers.

The extensive NOVITEC ROSSO RACE Bi-Compressor conversion, available for 47,000 Euros for this and all other F430 Spider models, offers unique performance. With a power output of 696 hp / 512 kW at 8,400 rpm the NOVITEC ROSSO conversion surpasses the production engine by 186 hp / 136.9 kW. Peak torque grows from standard 470 Nm to 682 Nm at 6,300 rpm.
Driving performance improves just as impressively: The tuned Scuderia Spider 16M sprints from rest to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, and reaches 200 km/h after just 9.7 seconds. The 300-km/h barrier is shattered after just 23.8 seconds. Top speed for the open-top mid-engine sports car increases from 315 to more than 330 km/h.

For further optimized handling of the lightweight sports car NOVITEC ROSSO offers an update from the standard 19-inch tires to three-piece 20-inch wheels. The NOVITEC ROSSO NF3 double-spoke wheels in size 8.5Jx20 in front and in size 12Jx20 in back widen the track and thus allow even higher cornering speeds. The custom-tailored high-performance tires in size 235/30 ZR 20 in front and in size 325/25 ZR 20 on the rear axle are provided by technology partner PIRELLI.

NOVITEC ROSSO sport springs lower the center of gravity and further improve agile handling. For added daily utility of the Scuderia Spider 16M NOVITEC ROSSO offers a hydraulic lift system for the front axle. At the push of a button the front is raised by 40 millimeters and makes navigating obstacles such as curbs, speed bumps and garage entries easier. The front axle reverts to normal position at a second push of the button or automatically once the car reaches a speed of 80 km/h.

To give the Spider exterior an even more striking appearance NOVITEC ROSSO offers blacks taillights, side markers and reflectors.

The lightweight-construction interior can be refined with exclusive NOVITEC ROSSO options as well. The ergonomically shaped leather/carbon-fiber NOVITEC ROSSO sport steering wheel features a flattened lower rim for easier entering and exiting. The NOVITEC ROSSO carbon-fiber shift paddles are longer than their production counterparts and make manual gearshifts of the F1-SuperFast2 transmission even easier.

Special interior color requests can be fulfilled by NOVITEC ROSSO in any imaginable color combination.

<![CDATA[Novitec Rosso Twin-Supercharged Ferrari 430 Scuderia]]> What happens when you bolt two superchargers to a Ferrari 430 Scuderia? Well, you get 717 HP at 8,350 RPM, and 532 lb-ft of torque at 6,250 RPM. That massive power is good for 216 MPH when equipped with an available taller gear ratio. Accelerating from a standstill, you'll hit 62 MPH in 3.5 seconds, and 124 MPH in 10.1 seconds. But don't think that this is just a straight-line showoff — at least it'd better not be for the price.

The standard Ferrari 430 Scuderia is already known for it's handling prowess, but Novitec Rosso goes one step further with new lowering springs. Grip is also aided by bigger Pirelli rubber, 235/30 ZR 20 in the front and 325/25 ZR 20 in the rear, wrapped around the new rims. There are other cosmetic tweaks here and there, but seeing as the whole package costs about $74,000 in addition to the cost of a standard Ferrari 430 Scuderia, we would expect nothing less.

<![CDATA[Novitec Fiat Grande Punto X-One]]> The Novitec crew apparently took a break from messing with Ferraris to toy with another Fiat Group burner. Make that oil burner. It's the Novitec Fiat Grande Punto X-One, a warmed-over version of Fiat's popular European hatch. Not quite a hot hatch from the factory, the diesel Punto's gotten a makeover including body kit and engine-electronics tune that wrings 160 hp out of the 1.9 liter JTD MultiJet. Of course, earlier this year Fiat introduced a turbocharged version of that engine producing up to 188 horsepower. But until they start offering it as a crate motor, this is about the top of what's available. Still, we'd imagine this bugger has torque for days and dainty gas-sipping tendencies. We give it two oilcans up. [World Car Fans]

<![CDATA[Maserati Novitec Quattroporte]]>

Some say the Italian-car tweakers at Novitec are masters of overkill. Eyeballing a typical Novitec job, they'll remark, "If Ferrari wanted the F430 to have twin superchargers they'd have have had God install them when he came to visit the Pope." But Novitec is undaunted by such purism. Nonetheless, their latest is a tasteful semi-mod of the Maserati Quattroporte. No breathing apparatus has been bolted on, just an ECU hack that raises the rev-limiter ceiling to 7,800 rpm, which — through the miracle of chaos theory — affects a power boost from 400 hp at 7,000 rpm to 413 hp at 7,100 rpm. Torque is effectively raised to 345 lb-ft at 4,650 rpm, from 332 lb-ft at 4,500 rpm stock. An application of twin adjustable shock absorbers — in stainless steel, natch — comprises the extent of handling tweakage. At the ground, stainless-steel exhaust tips and 20-inch multispoke rims under 245/35 Pirelli P-Zero rubber at the front and 285/30 make up the entirety of added cosmetics. Notwithstanding a lack of performance figures, the net effect is something between country club in Westport and hip-hop club on the far west side. We approve.

<![CDATA[Novitec's Latest: Ferrari F430 Bi-Compressor Evoluzione]]>

German Ferrari tweakers Novitec Rosso's been messing with the Ferrari F430 since it first materialized from Maranello. Its modus operandi is to stick twin superchargers on the stock V8 and see what happens. What happened previously was a peak of 636 hp. Now, with its new Evoluzione model, the company's added 20 horses via a Motronics ECU, though zero-to-60 time is static at 3.7 seconds and top speed remains a factory-listed 216 mph. The Novitec bi-compressor setup already includes water-fed intercoolers, uprated fuel injectors and reinforced drive belts with dynamic tensioners. The Evoluzione package also comes with a windtunnel-tested aero kit. No word on price, but unless you've knocked over a Brinks truck lately, don't ask.

<![CDATA[Aero Kit: Novitec's Wind Tunnel Tests]]>

Were it not for the media tweakers at Novitec, a German tuning shop specializing in Ferraris, we'd never ever get to see how engineers tunnel-test a Ferrari fitted with one of the company's aero kits. But there we are — complete with photo spread. It's a story of how a bunch of really smart people determine the drag coefficient of the company's Novitec Rosso F430 Supersport. The wind tunnel simulates a speed of ~87 mph, at which engineers determine lift at the front and rear axles. The point is to keep the horse from prancing too wildly, despite the increase in power from Novitec's engine mods (read: twin superchargers). Plus, the F430 just happens to look extremely cool amid all that science gear.

Press release:

Optimal Cd and down force

Finding the design that matches the vehicle and the optimal aerodynamic function are the two main pretensions for the construction of body parts. The Novitec Rosso aerodynamic program for the Ferrari F430 accomplishes this accordingly. Should the observer's taste decide about the design, then the aerodynamic function is documented through expendable tests in the wind tunnel. These proof tests, usual during the development by the automobile manufacturers, are extremely rare in the automobile tuning branch, although they are essential.

In the wind tunnel of the Research Institute for Motor Vehicles in Stuttgart, the Novitec Rosso F430 Supersport reached its aim perfectly. In this special institution the driving behaviour of the cars can be reproduced at different velocities. The tests of the Novitec Rosso F430 Supersport were performed by a simulated velocity of 140 km/h. Each part of the Novitec Rosso aerodynamic program has been tested, not only single but also in combination to each other, at numerous tryouts.

The lifting effect originated by the rising velocity can be converted into negative lift force through the accurately calculated Novitec Rosso aerodynamic parts, which offers the more optimal driving stability at high velocities. The Novitec Rosso front spoiler brings the front axle to 15.2 kg down force. The Cd (drag coefficient) is reduced to 0.37. The complete aerodynamic package, including front bumper, rear diffuser, side skirts and rear wing, optimises the vehicle to 8.1 kg negative lift at the front axle and 35.3 kg at the rear axle.

The Novitec Rosso aerodynamic offers to the F430 pilots an extra in security and diving fun, especially during fast driving.

<![CDATA[Pistonheads Drives the Novitec Ferrari F430]]>

Tuning shops that tweak out the Ferrari F430 have some cojones, don't they? Imagine taking a perfectly balanced sports car and adding a bunch of aftermarket junk. Calling that logic is like calling putting your brain in a Cuisinart "thinking out of the box." For the non-purist, however, Novitec's package of carbon-fiber body parts, twin superchargers, lowered suspension, 19" alloys and ceramic Brembo stoppers bolted on a stock F430 adds up to the thinking man's supercar. Plus, the promise of 636 bhp is enough to make supposedly sane, seriously wealthy individuals act rashly. Pistonheads actually drives the thing, so read on before judging.
