    For $6900 I'd be hunting down a Javelin with a 4-speed.

I've really grown to like these cars. The '78-'87s were everywhere when I was a kid, but these are so much better in every possible way. Needs to be a Cutlass Supreme, though - I never cared for the standard Colonnade roofline.

What the hell, if I can talk him down, nice price. Nowadays, 5-6 grand is about as good as you're going to do on anything that isn't a rotted-out piece of shit.

Nice to see one that isn't riding on 22" wheels or half primer. I'd prefer one from the next generation 1978-87, but this isn't too bad. I think the reproduction parts market is starting to cater to the colanades. With a few minor tweaks it is just as good or better mechanically than 1960s/early 70s muscle.

225 horse? Really? I'm pretty sure the Chevy 350 in non-Corvette (although, maybe even) applications was only making 190. Is someone messing with the past on us?

Nice price for a car that has likely reached its depreciation trough and will only go up as good clean examples become increasingly rare in the wild

I just cannot conceive of a time when a 2 door car was the best selling car. Was it because everyone bought something different, or were kids routinely stuffed through the quarter window with some lard for easy slippin'?

@brc: Two-door sedans/coupes had an advantage for families with young kids - no rear doors for the accidental self-ejection of the little yard-apes. Also, the GM Colonnade sedans were no beauties.

@tonyola: I disagree -- the colonnade A body sedans were pretty good looking cars for that era. But actually, I think "best seller" for 1976 refers to the entire Cutlass line (2 doors, 4 doors and wagons).

@brc - The rear quarter windows were fixed in place by '76 (actually, since '73 on the A bodies). Damn bean counters.

@TokyoMarc: I think the overwhelming majority of those cars were Cutlass Supremes. This was the height of the personal luxury coupe era.

I can deal with fixed coupe quarter windows. It's the fixed rear door windows on the downsized A-body sedans that's the epitome of cheapness.

Nice Price! It's a 33-year-old Cutlass with the Olds engine so you know parts support is going to be there forever, right? It's a solid investment in future mobility! What could possibly go wrong? And try finding a new ride with half as much style at even twice the price.

I'm guessing the swivel seats are so you don't pull a Paris when you step out at 54.

I'd keep my options open for a Scout Patriot in US Winter Olympics badging: same year, orders of magnitude cooler.

in another 17 years will people pay $6900 for a 1993 Ford Taurus, Toyota Camry? I think we're all looking at this car through the distorted lens of nostalgia, given that it's still a clean, rear-drive, V8 coupe. Even with a slush-pump auto and hideous plaid interior it offers a level of potential entertainment that probably warrants the OBO getting investigated. Niceish Price.

@JawzX2: Now with 100% more employment!: I think if we're talking about a Taurus SHO or maybe a V6 Camry coupe, the oddity factor might warrant that kind of money.

Do this AFTER getting it out of Michigan. I'm guessing he jacked it up for better pothole tolerance.

Reading his other ad/s, it appears the quarters and bumpers were replaced due to rust. While not a mjor deal breaker, that, coupled with the Detroit coordinates of the point of sale, would have me scouring the underside with a fine toothed rust-o-meter.

Also, he's WAAAY too proud of that electronics-show radio.
