    I don't think "murdered out" quite gets there for this car. How 'bout "genocided?"

    I built an Elco similar to this in MC3. Love it.

    This looks to be a 72 or a year or two earlier and it's amazing how great the lines still are. There have been some monster Novas in history and this one looks ready to join that club.

    Hot stuff!

    There's two problems with this car and I can't believe nobody has pointed them out yet.

    A) Automatic

    B) Should be flat black instead of wannabe gray.

    Otherwise, this thing is made of win.

    I like it better than some of his '80s abortions (J200, anyone?). This one looks... almost functional.

    The idea of a 'streetable' car with 2 turbos, 2 superchargers, and a radiator the size of an oil cooler still makes me cringe.

    This Nova seems to bear very little relation to my Mom's old Nova. Sort of like that distant branch of the family you try not to bring up at the Sunday dinner table, but you know they're probably having more fun right then.

    But why that goddamned TV screen in the dash!?

    Suddenly Mr. Trepanier needs a video screen to tell him how fast he goes? He needs an tach in in pie chart format to tell him what his RPMs are? Is he so fucking worried about fuel economy that he needs a little section of the screen to tell him how many miles per gallon he's getting?

    What the hell is next, digital watches?

    The hell with that. If it wanted to be truly, 100% bad ass, not only would it not look fast as Rust pointed out, it would have a real set of fucking gauges, not some cannibalized PSP screen.

    @pauljones-Jo Schmo's saintly and opposite twin.: What? It's a Racepak data-logging digital dash. Not some chintzy 80's throwback digital dash, but real race-car equipment. And you can configure it to display whatever data you want in pretty much whatever format you want.

    @elwood:

    I have no doubt that it's real race-car equipment, I just think that that is where it should stay: on race cars, of if it absolutely must spread beyond that, on contemporary tuner cars. But to put something like that in an old school muscle car just seems somehow wrong.

    @nj_hoon:

    The only problem I tend to have with his cars is that they are occasionally a little too over-the-top, and despite their massive engines, neck-snapping acceleration, and space-time continuum-warping quarter mile times, they aren't always the most well-balanced cars.

    This car is awesome, but if I had a badass last name like "Trepanier" I would have incorporated a pun on trepanning into the car's name... something like "Skull Driller" might work. Maybe have a ~1.5" hole saw as a hood ornament.

    It would be more awesome if it didn't look fast.

    Stick some whitewalls and a set of plain disc hubcaps on that baby. Or transplant the powertrain into a Vista Cruiser.

    Fast enough to make the woodgrain peel off the sides.

    @Rust-MyEnemy: The concept is something we used to call a "Baretta mobile." Remember that TV show, 'Baretta'? The star (the infamous Robert Blake) had a beat up looking full-size Chevy that was (for the purposes of the show) very souped up underneath: engine, suspension and brakes. The sound man always put in the sound of some heavy-breather under the hood. Sort of the same idea as the Q-ship from WWII.
