    In Boston, behind my condo building, Subaru has somewhere between 600-1000 vehicles sitting in what they told the neighborhood association, was temporary space, which means they have another 2000 or so in their regular holding location on the

    Mystic River. It's amazing.

    Why I am shocked, SHOCKED, to find overproduced Toyotas, Hondas, Hyundais and Kias being dumped onto the world market...oops, I mean....I am shocked, SHOCKED, to find gambling going on in this establishment!


    If those are '09 F150's stockpiled on the lot, I'd heard from a cousin of mine who works at Dearborn Truck that as of early December, they were having trouble keeping up with incoming orders for the new F-150.

    Doesn't someone eventually figure out that the cars aren't selling and it might be time to slow things down a bit? Tough to feel sorry for these car companies when they can't figure out when their inventory is getting heavy.

    @Radkeen: There's a fun little game we did in school called the Beer Game (not as fun as it sounds) that illustrates the bullwhip effect of supply and demand in a supply chain situation. And the end of the game, everything pretty much looks like it does in these pictures.


    Joe's right. Supply chain management ain't easy at all.
