Ok, will someone tell me when the Skyline GTR and Civic changed roles? Someone has screwed up the Ricer vs Race Car balance... and that person shall pay.

@GameBreaker: Ricers used to be too poor to also be douchenozzles. I.e. the Civic was the weapon of choice.

But now that the GT-R has a price that puts it into Balla territory, and the silly ricer shops seem to have the money to afford them the GT-R is now the new weapon of choice, and I for one am happy, I'm sick of the Civic having a largely incorrect reputation in that regard.

Seriously all of the WORST ricer jobs I have seen are on Nissans/Saturns/Hyundai/Mustangs... Yeah there are a lot on Hondas too, but the ones that really stick out in my mind that I have seen are not.

As folks have mentioned, a low rear harness mounting point isn't automatically a death sentence--but the angle should be minimal, say 15 degrees or less. We check for this in LeMons tech. Imagine if they had SEMA tech.

@LionZoo: yeah if course they're different, but clearly this GTR's styling pedigree started with an ugly minivan. It's most recognizable line (ugly catfish mouth) came from this (ugly catfish mouthed) van.

@Fourstring85: My guess is that a radio-active catfish had sex with a Nissan minivan, and their offspring had sex with a sport-bike.

But unfortunately the result of that mating had downs-syndrome and thus we arrive at the GT-R.

Attaching the harnesses to the rear seatbelt mounting points is actually recommended by Schroth, among other harness manufacturers, though that particular angle does make me uncomfortable. At least they're not running them straight down to the rear bolts for the seat rails like some soon-to-be paraplegic ricers do.

@Thrashy, grumpy young curmudgeon: Yeah, there's an acceptable downward angle allowed, but in reality there should be a harness bar behind the seat.

I think livery makes the GT-R much easier on the eyes than solid colors, given it's tall stance and huge, square flanks and sides. The GT-R is all function; the 'anti-sexy'.
