What do you get for the
Nissan GT-R owner that has everything except a Snap-On toolbox customized with an image of their car printed on the side of it? A Snap-On toolbox customized with an image of their car printed on the side of it. We just got the flyer from Nissan advertising this toolbox, which proclaims the ten-drawer, double-bank drawers are being offered exclusively to GT-R owners, much to the disappointment of Nissan Rogue and Titan owners. There's no word on the cost for this accessory, but we'd guess it'll come in somewhere around the price of the
Nissan Versa 1.6S. Oh, and using it will probably
void your warranty. Features list and flyers below the jump.

Nissan execs have apparently told the reporters over at
Edmunds Straightline that the
2009 Nissan GT-R will be the first and last GT-R with the "launch control" system as the company is tired of dealing with the
warranty nightmares that have convinced people they can't do
GT-R donuts. Said one high-ranking exec:
It's gone," he said when asked if launch control would return in 2010. "We just don't want to deal with the warranty nightmare anymore

While
fan boys the world waits anxiously for the
Nissan GT-R V-Spec, could the company be secretely developing and even faster, 600 HP version of Godzilla? Japan’s
Best Car magazine is reporting along with a Le Mans competition car, a street-legal
Nissan GT-R LM Edition will be offered with an extremely high level of performance and in extremely limited numbers. While we’re pretty skeptical of
Best Car’s prediction of what the inevitably body addenda will look like, the rest could be in the realm of probability.

You see some rare, one-of-a-kind
ABS plastic carbon fiber sheetmetal on the
SEMA show floor, but nothing is less common in Vegas this time of year than a completely stock example of one of the hottest cars on the planet. That's right: Nissan elected to bring a bone-stock
GT-R to SEMA, almost as a challenge to the customizers on-site. "Blank canvas, boys. Whatcha gonna do now?" it taunts, no doubt causing the creative wheels to turn even faster than when confronted with someone else's interpretation of the car. Well played, Nissan. Well played. Also, considering
mods apparently void the warranty, we should have expected it.

The new
Nissan GT-R is just
too hard to modify for performance, what with the tricky,
unhackable computer system and the already
Porsche-confounding performance. That's why Japanese tuners Branew brought their Branew GT-R to SEMA with only appearance upgrades. The car gets a revised front clip, side skirts, massive 23 inch wheels, a triple-tipped exhaust outlet, functional spoiler and rear splitter mounted on a very C5 Corvette-inspired tail end. The Branew GT-R will probably suffer from the classic tuner problem of being slower with all the extra pretty stuff on it — a characteristic most tuner car enthusiasts are able to ignore.

In Quentin Tarantino’s "Death Proof", Kurt Russells’s character modifies his car to protect its driver in even the most severe of accidents, thus rendering the machine impervious to death. Bespoke Ventures has done exactly the opposite, modifying their
Nissan GT-R in such a way that severe back injury is virtually guaranteed by any front-end collision. Click through to find out why.

As proof the body kit isn't what's responsible for the "
most hideous Nissan GT-R ever" from a few weeks ago, Zele has released pictures of their upcoming
SEMA special carbon fiber
GT-R aero kit, complete with brilliant orange paint. All the Zele pieces are individually available to add as much or as little of the upcoming Spec V look as you like, or you can get the whole package including orange paint, Rays forged alloys and an upgraded ECU sans-JDM speed limiter. Pricing for individual pieces runs from about $500 up to $1,100, while pricing for the entire upgrade package appears to still be in the works.

hoon of the day
So now that we've learned how turning off the VDC to use the lanuch control on the 2009 Nissan GT-R can
void its warranty, we're wondering if that would also include hoonage like this smoke session. Lucky for this guy, he
"bought it brand new just 2 hav fun and burn rubber in. warranty dosent matter and money is not the crteria here!!!! if u know wat im sayin!!" Word. Video after the jump.
