I'd want this toolbox so much more if it had a picture of Ken Imhoff's Countach on the side.

Every time I open a drawer on it, I'll be inspired to wrench to my fullest.

I certainly do see a box for tools.

According to the dash graphic on the tool box this car does 140mph at 3,000rpm in 3rd gear! That just seems to be a little off.

Yes, but you can only REALLY open it up if the on-board GPS identifies it as being at an official racing venue...

Apparently one of the Engineers at Porsche bought one for testing, but couldn't get the drawers open.

Also, this contrasts nicely with the Porsche Panamera Tool Box, which is just a coffin.

I wonder what the upcharge over the base $4100 or so is? [buy1.snapon.com] I MIGHT be impressed if it was stuffed with all the special tools to actually work on a GT-R. You just KNOW that somewhere special metric flat-blade screw drivers will be required for adjusting something. At the very least you should get the special metric adjustable wrenches.

You should be wary that anybody shown this in your garage will, within 30 seconds, force a torque wrench into your anal cavity.

Next step will be GT-R branded wet n' dry vacuum cleaners, coal scuttles and composters.

If a 13 year old could afford a toolbox like this, this is EXACTLY the one he would buy.

The whole thing is lame, but the red shading behind the needles is so over the top lame I can't stand it.

All that being said, there is no toolbox on Earth that will bring you as much joy as a good Snap-on box. Once you've worked out of one, you will throw rocks at your Crapsman and possible roll it off a cliff.

Am I pandering to an outdated stereotype by doubting that the average Nissan GT-R owner knows how to use any of the tools in in the box?

@SuzanneD: No, but you can say that about any expensive high-performance car today. Once upon a time, if you were really serious about going fast, you would buy a fast car and then tinker with it, keeping your fingers crossed that your ministrations wouldn't make it illegal for your race class or undrivable on the street. In the old days, cam swaps and tube headers were a matter of course; now I'd guess that many 911, Corvette or GT-R owners need at least three tries to find the pointy end of a screwdriver.

I bet there's a secret drawer on the back that Snap-On unofficialy talks about, but if you use it, the box will fall to pieces.

Meanwhile, Craftsman is retalliating with the Corvette ZR-1 toolbox. It's just a giant wooden box, so it's not as nice inside as some of the competing toolboxes, but it'll hold more tools than the GT-R toolbox. There's the Viper ACR toolbox also, but that's really only for professional mechanics, it actively trys to kill everyone else.
