Put skirts on it and make a wagon version and it will be the only car I will ever need.

I love the sound of fanboi heads exploding. Only quieter now and possibly with blown trannies. Some extra charges may apply.

The only electric GT-R I want to see is one powered by a fusion engine. Until that time, make mine with more turbo.

Hybrid powertrains are quickly becoming the Bluetooth earpiece of the automotive world: dorky, invasive, annoying, unnecessary, and ubiquitous. The GT-R is already massively overweight and overcomplicated but it's hardly wanting for techno credibility, since the tech it has allows it to comprehensively overcome its Manuel Uribe-style porkitudinosity.

    Nissan board room:
VP #1:"How can we add more weight to the GT-R?"
VP #2 "Do you mean gravitas? The GT-R is pretty much there already."
VP #1: "No, I mean more kg's. The car is a lightweight. I know, let's make it a silly hybrid that adds another 68 kg. Then we can call it green and envirofriendly."
    VP #2: "Whatevar, dude-san."

Makes sense, as Godzilla always did that awesome electrical thing with his spine plates. Hopefully the GT-Rh will retain this feature.

And speaking of Rh, what about a Baby Godzilla?

The production model will probably be based on the Altima Hybrid.

I saved up my change and finally bought a GT-R. I don't have problems with the launch control though. It's completely manual on mine.

Wes, thanks for writing out what IHI stands for.

I've always wanted to know, but forget before I can get to a computer.

After spending about a half hour staring at the turbocharger which lives disturbingly close to the starter on a Cummins ISB last night, I have a newfound appreciation for what they do and the environment they produce.

@Paul Y. can't get in the club; gotta parking lot pimp: Even if it doesn't, it still costs more to replace the fluid in the tranny than it does to tear down the engine

I'd have included the corncob car in the list. It's light, aerodynamic, has a pedestrian-friendly skin, and can be constructed from renewable materials.

Best of all, any cornfed kid in the heartland can make their very own car.

Not so sure lemon wheels would be good for an open-air car -- at least without wearing goggles.

As much as I enjoy all the fun and silliness you guys get up to at Jalopnik, it is the genuine love of cars epitomized by this selection that has made me a fan. Great choices - an instant short list for any car loving lottery winner (maybe the Roadster/MX5/Miata over the RX8 but kudos for at least mentioning the STi)- and great writing (I almost started to get choked up reading some of it). You made my day.

@superbmtsub: I took this photo…not mis-matched. I think the aperture value and focal length makes it look a little…off.
