    @SuzanneD: I can only speak for myself,there's no hate here. I just find the Scirocco a disappointment,the Scirocco should have been to the Golf, what the Integra type R was to the Civic. VW have the funds & tech to do it,but they can't be seen to outdo Audi. The brand fans win,the enthusiast loses out.

    @Rust-MyEnemyEnjoysPleasure!!!!: I got it as well, but skimmed the Wikipedia entry anyway. I learned that referencing wind, Scirocco = Ghibli. This doesn't hold true automotively. Ghibli > Scirocco.

    @layabout: now this is definitely ugly. but the original one isn't so good looking ? really ? i've only seen it in pics, and i found it nice (looks wise)

    @c0de: Having seen one side by side with a Golf i fail to see the point of this car. It looks too similar to a 3 door Golf,only slightly melted & yet you have to pay a fair amount more over the same spec Golf. At least the original Scirocco looked different to the mk1 Golf & the Corrado looked different to the mk2 Golf it was based on. I have no doubt people that are brand loyal to VW will buy them,but like the Corrado i don't think it will have as big a following the original Scirocco did.

    @layabout: Just like the Passat CC. Change a wee bit of the styling, but offer basically the same car for a 20% premium.

    @racerx: No,a mate of mine works for VW,he's got three in his showroom & can't shift them as easily as the same spec/cheaper Golfs. I guess some dealers may do discounts in the near future if this continues.
