2012 "T6" Ford Ranger Spotted Across Globe
2010 Ford Ranger: Now With AdvanceTrac And Roll Stability Control

You'd've thought that the last time there was an updated Ranger in the global market they'd've brought it, you know, here, where people buy pickups.

Still... the Tundra was nice...

I'm staggered! ♥!

My opinion might also be biased due to the fact that the driver was pretty cute.

Also, you really gotta quit with those funny metric numbers. You double it and add 30 to convert, right? I had no idea a Corrado could do 330 miles an hour...!

Customization done!
Bonus points for a mirror on the ceiling.

"Oh, and more full size vans getting customized."
^I was talking about the FULL SIZE VAN!

Heck, those are nearly V8 numbers from 15 years ago. Surely that's enough to motivate a small truck with a towing capacity under 5k#.

It doesn't have to have rich Corinthian leather.
It doesn't have to tow 8 billion lbs.
It doesn't need power heated everything.
It doesn't need 12 milllion cubic ft. cargo capacity.
All it needs is to be cheap and meet those terrifyingly easy goals outlined above.
They could call it the "Lone Ranger"......... or .... how about "Ranger Stripper" (embrace our pornified culture-it can't be any worse than associating with Toby Keith.)
I'd sign on the dotted line tomorrow.

Its hard to believe because I think the last time they installed them in any other vehicle, it was in a Tempo.
Stout workhorse, however. They also take boost well.

Model bloat is the name of the game. If you want lighter, shop in the 80s. The Ranger, completely optioned to the hilt as a 4x4, barely cracked into the 3000lb range in the 80s, Now the unloaded base model starts at around 2800lbs and you can blow up to 3500 very fast. That's shameful in a compact anything, and a truck in particular. It cuts too deeply into your safe payload capacity, and isn't payload really what trucks are all about?

There you stood, everybody watched you play
I just turned and walked away
I had nothing left to say
'Cause you're still the same
You're still the same
Moving game to game
Some things never change
You're still the same

I'll miss the Ranger. It's going to be the end of an era, the no-foolishness compact pickup.
There won't be any compact pickups left, unless Mahindra brings the Appalachian like they're hoping. I don't want that. The Ranger, with 13 years of steady production, is pretty good with all the last little kinks ironed out. I think it'd be better/smarter to reimagine it, update it, and keep going.
And always keep the cheapskate, sturdy straight-4 base engine, man-5 tranny available.
