UPDATE BELOW.

Although we're told it only takes about 30 minutes to fix, we're being told GM's now issued a voluntary "official recall" on the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS over the battery cable issue that caused one Camaro5 member's new Bumblebee-yellow mullet-mobile to die less than 40 miles from the dealership. We're also being told GM's asking for the Camaro SS to be flat-bed hauled back to the dealership rather than driven there under its own power. More coming shortly.

UPDATE: We've just posted a gallery of pages from the technical service bulletin below — so you can see how you'll be affected if you own a Super-Sporty version of the new Chevy Camaro. Sorry for the pages being a little bit out of order. Blame the interns. And by interns we mean us.

A: It's a Camaro.

<![CDATA[Chevy Camaro SS Laps Nurburgring In 8:19]]> The 2010 Chevy Camaro SS officially lapped Germany's Nurburgring in 8:19. How does this stack up to other GM products?

As you can see, the new Camaro SS is quicker than the Pontiac G8 GXP around the 'Ring but, predictably, slower than both the Cadillac CTS-V and Corvette ZR1. At a fraction of a cost it's hard to complain about the performance.

<![CDATA[Chevy Camaro SS Official 0-to-60 Time: 4.7 Seconds]]> In addition to the fuel-sipping EPA numbers of 16 MPG City, 24 MPG Highway, we're told the 0-to-60 time of the new Chevy Camaro SS is a tire-squealing 4.7 seconds.

Yes, we know it's our second Camaro post of the day, but come on, if there's one thing a muscle car deserves a post on is a 0-to-60 time. Now of course those numbers are GM's official numbers, so take 'em for a grain of salt until the buff books bang the new mullet-mobile away themselves on the drag strip. Still, for the moment, that's a pretty amazing number considering how hefty of a beast the new Camaro is. But with 426 HP with the stick and 400 HP with the auto tranny, that's not too shabby at all.

We're wondering how the 300 HP V6 will manage on the strip ourselves.

<![CDATA[Bumblebee's Tarted-Up Camaro Body Spotted Clearly On Transformers 2 Set]]> We're already the first to have shown you Bumblebee's newly tarted-up aftermarket look (and again showing off that very newish nose and with Shia ), and now we're getting some better shots of his muscularly-modded bod sitting on the Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen set at White Sands Holloman AFB. We already know the look isn't any production trim level Chevy will be offering on the new Chevy Camaro, and thank goodness because it's certainly "special" looking. And — umm — that's really all there is to say about that. If you're interested, Transformers Live has some more galleries of some of the other vehicles (Optimus Prime, Ratchet and Ironhide) over there.

<![CDATA[2010 Chevy Camaro Showing Off Best Shots Yet Of DI V6 Engine?]]> You may have been thinking General Motors has timed their muscle car revival all wrong, what with the 2010 Chevy Camaro coming out just as gas hits $51 per gallon. But see that's just what they want — to make driving this car an indulgence. And why wouldn't it be? Especially as it now appears that although the V8-engined 2010 Camaro SS may be getting all the attention, the V6 is going to pack quite a punch as well. These new shots from the forum fan-boys looking beyond the F-body at Camaro5 give us the clearest look yet under the hood of the six-cylinder model. But this does not appear to be your grandpa's engine.

Look closely at the throttle-body size and shape and the bolts holding it on, the three fluid reservoirs in the same locations, all cues that this is indeed the glorious direct-injection V6. That means about 300 HP, the same sort of power Ford gets from the V8 Mustang GT. And look, they've even moved the battery out of the engine bay, likely mounting it in the trunk like the Pontiac G8. All in all it looks like just the thing for the indulgence-minded muscle car buyer.
