Why are you guys running this?! You obviously hate Amurrika, Mom, apple pie, capitalism, God, puppies, success, hard work and everything else that's good and righteous.
Guess this was never meant to be a reliable car. After all, it was originally designed to be a beautiful ornament and the mechanicals had to be fitted in when people demanded that it moves. Not GM's fault.
Well installing battery cable terminals in a car is a fairly new thing, they have only been doing this for about 90 years. I sure with enough time and technology they can work this out.
For once.. It doesnt matter how much technology they throw at it, or how much OF MY FUCKIN MONEY they throw at it...
It wont go away It wont get any better And they will.. STILL SUCK ASS!
Installing battery cable terminals.. Thats as simple as putting ya tires on in the right direction. If there is a way, FUCKIN GM WILL FUCKIN FIND A FUCKIN WAY TO FUCKIN FUCK IT THE FUCK UP!
@d3c509b aka Steve: Yeah, at least the recall doesn't take years and years of failures and class action lawsuits to enact (if it happens at all).
The best you can do otherwise is just lodge a complaint with the NHTSA. If enough people experience the same critical failures over the years (in my case, control arms and ABS module), then it turns into an investigation and often a forced recall. Not holding my breath on either of those two, though.
Long story short, good for GM. In business, often the successful and timely handling of a problem can leave people with a BETTER taste in their mouths than if the problem had not even occurred. Strange, but true.
@MissingPieces: The DRLs are why the headlights go, even in the German ones - they get used, a lot. I know a guy with a 230k+ mile '00 1.8t/manual sedan, and he's done headlights a couple times, but never signals/taillights/etc.
My mother's Mexican '01 New Beetle, same engine/trans, went through a period of eating lights - head, tail, brake - as delicious snackfood.
I should try predicting the future, it can't be too hard. Alright, here's my first try--tomorrow will be a Thursday. What do you think, it could happen, no?
They've broken the fecord for the fastest recall in the West. Are there like only 5 SS's out there? 5 telephone calls would have done it rather than a whole recall notice.

Everyone's entitled to a mistake now and then.

This proves that GM is still NOT ready for primetime.

At least you're not a Toyota fanboy. If you were, I'd have to do my Hypocrite Dance.

one for side airbags randomly deploying, and one for the sunroof randomly shattering at high speeds.
Both a bit scarier than a mis-routed battery cable.
Recalls happen, it's best that the company takes care of it when they can.

I know, but Gawker won't let me change my name back.
I am also going to predict that today, some one will get held down, and hit with a brick.

Do you know who's getting hit with a brick?
